Quirky, beach inspired cottage on the fabulous Northumberland Coast.
Dovecote Corner is a quirky end of terrace cottage in the popular coastal village of Amble-by-the-Sea, and it can accommodate up to 4 people. It is perfect for a couple or a small family looking for a cosy base to discover the delights of the Heritage Coastline.
The bustling harbour, award winning restaurants, pubs and shops are within walking distance, as is a sandy beach, working harbour and pier walk. Recently, we have had the addition of an interactive Lobster Breeding Centre...we are trying to increase the size of the lobster population in the North Sea and our famous Amble Pods..upended boats containing tiny shops selling all manner of arts and crafts. People travel for miles to visit our Sunday morning market, located on the harbour around the corner ...it’s the biggest in the area. A few minutes drive heading north brings you to historic Warkworth, with its medieval castle, charming shops and pubs all serving good food. A mile or so south takes you to the golden beaches of Hauxley and Druridge..and two bird sanctuaries with hides around a series of lakes.
Comfortably furnished with a beach theme, our bright cottage offers two bedrooms, one roomy double and one bunk room and a bathroom with a bath for those long soaks after a tiring day on the beach. A small fitted kitchen and bright sitting room with woodburning stove for those cold winter nights and TV with freeview and DVD player, books, DVDs and wifi complete this pretty cottage.
Why not take a trip Alnwick Castle and Gardens or discover one of the many coastal walks taking in a pint and a crab sandwich somewhere along the way, the golden beaches are endless and waiting to be discovered.
Are you a foodie? Try one of Amble by the Seas numerous restaurants....some award winning ones too!

The little house was perfect for our short stay. It had all the amenities we needed. We enjoyed the location near to the harbour and convenient for exploring the rest of the area
This small cottage was ideally situated in Amble, a busy fishing village even in early November. Close, too, to the local, excellent restaurants and pubs. The host was helpful and fun. The cottage is pet friendly and parking nearby is always possible. Thoroughly recommended.

Thanks so much for your lovely review…I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed Amble.
The property was cozy and had everything we needed for a couple of days, it was also perfectly located for the restaurant we were visiting. Swift and friendly communication from booking to departure.
Communication with Di was excellent. This was a gift for son and his girlfriend and they said it was in an ideal location and they had a fantastic stay 😄
have had a fantastic stay for one week. Pubs, restaurants, supermarket, harbour and beech are all in walking distance. Everything needed is in the cottage. Equipment a bit old but all worked good.We really can recommend the cottage.Diane is very friendly and helpful

Thanks for taking the time to review Dovecote Corner…it’s very much appreciated!!
The cottage was perfect for our stay, it had everything we needed. The location is great and Diane was really responsive in terms of communication. Would recommend! :)
This was our first stay in Northumberland and we couldn't have picked a nicer place to stay. The house was lovely, thoughtfully decorated and really well equipped with everything we needed. The area was quiet and only a short walk away from the harbour - we enjoyed a walk down there every morning in a week of beautiful sunshine. Highly recommended as an excellent base for a stay!

Come back soon x
Dovecote Corner is a little gem, cosy, comfortable and really well equipped. We slept so well in the comfy bed, we were warm and cosy, the fire was easy to light and it was very efficient. The cottage is central in Amble and within easy walking distance of some great places to eat and drink and close to shops. There are beautiful beaches locally and our dogs loved running on them. Diane was a really responsive host and she left a selection of welcome goodies including milk and biscuits.

I’m so glad you’ve found Northumberland!!
And I’d be happy to host you again on your next visit…you left the house so tidy that it was hard to see you’d even been there!!! X
Warm comfortable house. Everything one needs for a short stay. As we had been before we knew to take a mat for the shower as it is over a bath.
The online details are a bit lacking . Last year I had to contact the owner to check if there was a separate shower .
The house is so convenient for Amble harbour.
We hope to return.
Cosy end of terrace 2 storey cottage. The heating was great and there was no need of the log fire. The kitchen equipment was plentiful and the milk etc was welcome. Although the shower was over the bath ,the bath sides were not too high.
Plenty to see and do in and around Amble, We did contact the owner and our query was immediately dealt with.

I’m happy that you’ve enjoyed your holiday …come back soon!!
Comfortable and surprisingly big cottage in amble; just what we needed for a few days by the sea. Conveniently located for shops, pubs and restaurants with plenty of space to park outside. The outside space was a welcome addition in the heatwave and actually very private as it backs on to a very small through road.
Clean, tidy and great location… close to shops and harbour .
Great little place … brilliant for sight seeing … close to wonderful beaches …. Shops and eateries… if you love fish you can’t get any fresher … Dianne is a lovely host….
We will be back for another stay and will recommend the cottage
The property suited us very well. Within walking distance of the harbour and some excellent restaurants. Nice size for us and our two dogs. Some nice welcoming touches on arrival. The only problem was parking when there were events on across the road.
We had a great time, the house was so cosy and welcoming and Diane was a great host, so helpful! It’s a lovely area and all the info Diane left for us was really helpful. Smooth check in process too and no trouble parking. The milk and biscuits were a really nice touch. Thanks so much!!

Lovely quality time spent with the family in our most favourite place in Amble. Diane the owner was lovely and leaving milk in the fridge and biscuits was a very nice touch.
