About this property

Comfortable and Secluded Rustic Wildlife Cabin with WIFI, Roku

Come enjoy a real Montana experience on a beautiful recreational and fishing lake in Northwestern Montana. The lake is stunningly beautiful and unspoiled with crisp clear water and features some of the best fishing in the state with Kamloops trout strain among others.
The rustic cabin is located on the West Shore.. It is opposite the lake's only island and marshy area where wildlife abounds.
Resident birds include Herons, Bald Eagles, Osprey, Canadian Geese, Ducks, and Loons.
Resident fish include Rainbow Trout, Kamloops, Kokanee Salmon, Bass, and more.
It is not unusual to see an eagle or Osprey take a fish right off the shoreline next to the cabin.
The cabin has two renovated bedrooms, a renovated bathroom with a shower and tub, and a combined living area and kitchen with a wood cook stove, gas fireplace insert, and an electric organ. Outside, there are three levels of deck.

To enhance your experience, a hot tub, kayaks, and a paddleboard are available for extra fees.
*Please let us know at least a week in advance if you would like any of the following.
*Pet fee- $50
*Kayaks - $10 a day each, and includes life jackets and paddles.
*The paddleboard- $20 a day.

Serenity

The view of the lake was serene and peaceful and a beautiful Great Blue Heron greeted us daily. Beds were very comfy. Mike was very nice and checked in on us when there were fires in the area. Really enjoyed seeing the deer on the road coming and going. Easy access to Kalispell and GNP.

Wonderful Cabin Getaway

Really enjoyed our stay here. We were surprised that the road to the cabin is paved. Mike was very friendly and met is when we arrived to show us around. We rented kayaks with the cabin and explored the lake and nearby island. The cabin was simple and just what we wanted.

Great experience!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! It was peaceful and quiet. There was an eagle that had a nest in a nearby tree and deer all along the road coming in. There are so many scenic drives in the area and Kalispell is only 30 minutes away. There’s some great restaurants there. When we were at the cabin we spend most of the time on the back deck. Mike met us when we checked in and was very nice. I would stay there again.

Surprises Galore

The cabin was old and homey but clean and well stocked. Mike was responsive and in my complaint about all the extra charges, compensated with a couple bottles of wine, use of three kayaks, fishing gear, bear spray and other extras. The parking was a little challenging as there was a steep slope with no barriers to keep you from rolling down the hill and crashing into the cabin. Major problem with Vbro as I paid for travel and damage insurance, but they still deducted $1500 from my credit card without my permission. All the extra fees added about 35% to the quoted rate.

Perfect small cabin on a beautiful lake

My wife and I had the chance to stay at this place on little bitteroot lake with our young kids. The place was perfect for what we were looking for. We try to fish there every year and having a cabin with a hot tub was such an excellent decision. Thanks again!

Cute cabin right on the lake

Wonderful rustic cabin right on the lake. Homey and comfortable. Stayed with my parents and my son. We went to Glacier NP which was a bit of a drive (1hour to west entrance) but the view from the deck was worth the drive to the Park. Also great location to visit Kootenai Falls (in the movie The Revenent) from. Kitchen is well outfitted. Charcoal BBQ there. Deer everywhere in the neighborhood. Fun to watch the waterfowl from the porch. We rented the kayaks and had a lovely paddle around the lake and island in the lake. Communication with the host was excellent. We had a lovely time. Thanks!

Missed Possibilities

The location is beautiful but know that there is no air conditioner so hot summer days will need to be spent outside the house. No dock and muddy lake bottom prevents access to kayaks unless you drive them to public access. Unsafe deck steps and railings. Hot tub needs to be scrubbed to keep water from looking brown.

It was a good home base for our day trips.

Super hot week so a couple of fans would have been helpful (there was 1 small one), but we made it through. Overall, a good place.

Great location, lots of Rustic charm

We loved the location, it was very quiet and the mornings on the deck bench were oh so peaceful. Very rustic and slightly dated cabin but overall a great time. Owner was very responsive and kind.

Beautiful Lake Living

My husband, I, and our small dog stayed at this property for my birthday. The neighborhood is nice and wooded and the view out the back of the property of Little Bitterroot lake is beautiful! The cabin met all of our needs and was a nice home base to explore the surrounding area and/or just relax for the day at the cabin. We rented kayaks from Mike and that was so fun! We really enjoyed birdwatching from the kayaks and back deck. There is a bald eagle nest on the little island that Mike told us about and we were able to see the eagles several times. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in this vintage cabin and Mike was a great host. I would recommend this stay for anyone seeking a place away from the hustle and bustle of Kalispell.

Awesome cabin on Little Bitterroot Lake

We had a great time at this cabin!! The property was in a great location. The property manager was very receptive and helpful!! We rented kayaks from him and had soo much fun on the lake with them. The beds were comfy and everything was in great working condition! The hot tub on the deck was a great added bonus! The views from the cabin and the hot tub were great and we wished we could have stayed longer!! We will definitely be back again soon!! Thank you!!

Bitterroot GetAway

The cabin is rustic and nicely set on Lake Bitterroot, scenic ,quiet and good sized. However the cleanliness and some of the functionality was lacking. Upon arrival we had to mop the floors 3 times to get rid of hair and filth, clean all table tops, wash most of dishes, and clean old food remnants out of sink drain. The hot tub never got warm, the bath tub did not drain (water over feet in 2 minutes), sliding door did not work and two electrical problems. , That said it was a good visit to the Whitefish / Glacier Park area

Great lake cabin to stay for a family vacation!

This place is roomy, comfortable, and met all our needs just fine. The owner is very helpful and friendly, and stayed in touch to be sure everything went well. A very smooth stay in all regards. Next time we need this kind of place near Kalispell, we hope to go back there. It was definitely a home away from home. We would highly recommend.

classic romantic cabin in the woods

What a great little cabin in the woods. Took the kayaks over to the island and did some serious exploring. Sunsets are off the charts and the solitude of the mornings is what dreams are made of. Just a beautiful little cabin in the woods. Beds are clean and soft and Mike left plenty of goodies to munch on. I would recommend this cabin to anyone who really wants to relax and leave the stress behind, just a fantastic, rustic getaway.

I am originally from California and have been coming to this area since 1980. I was brought up here by a friend and decided that I wanted to spend time in this area. Now I live here most of the time.
I enjoy playing music (guitar and harmonica), singing, painting, camping, fishing, kayaking, golfing hiking, and more :)

Why they chose this property

Comfortable and private with beautiful views of the lake.

What makes this property unique

The feeling people get when I am here is unique to any place else. It is possible to kayak, bike, hike, chop wood, build fires, cook on a wood stove or just sit in the outdoor jacuzzi while sipping wine on the deck.
*Kayaks are also available for $10 a day, which includes life jackets and paddles.
*Pets are allowed but due to past issues, we must be notified of the type of pet in advance. We have a $50 pet fee.
*There is a full kitchen, jacuzzi, wood stove, as well as musical instruments (organ and guitar) at your disposal.
Recommended: a glass of wine on the lower deck at dusk with the one you love.
