In the heart of West Dorset, on a working farm, situated in the beautiful Marshwood Vale only 2½ miles from the famous World Heritage Jurassic Coast between Lyme Regis to the west and Bridport and West Bay to the east, this large, semi-detached farmhouse for twelve guests and offers a great holiday location to escape from the pressures of life and unwind in this wonderful area. Purcombe Farmhouse offers spacious accommodation for two to three families. Outside one can sit undercover and enjoy a barbecue or al fresco meal with some wine, and families can relax in the large garden with its lawn and lovely views over the Marshwood Vale. Within easy driving there is much to do; exploring the seaside resorts along this scenic coast, taking in Lyme Regis, Charmouth, Eype, West Bay, Abbotsbury and on to Weymouth and Portland Bill. Perhaps some coastal walking, maybe up to the top of Golden Cap with its fantastic views over Lyme Bay, followed by a hearty meal and refreshment in Chideock. There is swimming, fossil hunting, boating, fishing and golf along the coast or inland attractions such as Forde Abbey and Gardens, Broadwindsor Craft Centre, Yeovil Fleet Air Arm Museum, Haynes Motor Museum and so much more to have a memorable gathering, be it family or friends. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

We loved the farmhouse.

We loved the farmhouse. Well equipped roomy house but cozy. Perfect for a big family and great for dogs. Garden really safe for dogs and children. Hot tub great- owners really helpful.

Fabulous place to stay, everything that you could want for a large party going away together. Beds are super comfy and everyone had a brilliant nights sleep.Lovely large enclosed garden perfect for dogs and children.Rural location with narrow lanes approaching the property but Bridport is only 12 minutes away.Jacuzzi was up and running on our arrival, gowns provided.Outside eating area under cover, loungers and a fire pit.

A perfect getaway

Purcombe Farmhouse is a gem. It provides comfortable and very well equipped accommodation, suitable for all ages - our family group were aged 66 down to 1yr and we all had a wonderful week there. Lovely gardens to explore and the hot tub was a definite plus later at night! This property is so peaceful and with stunning views, yet only a 10 minute drive from Bridport

We had a wonderful long weekend celebrating my mum's 60th birthday. The house was perfect for our large family group and particularly well equipped for all of the cooking we did. We did enjoy the walks nearby but staying here, there really is little reason to leave. Everything you need is on site. We enjoyed an evening around the firepit and games in the sitting room. We were very lucky to have such sunny weather and made the most of the hot tub, badminton and croquet sets. Thoroughly recommend without hesitation.

We have scored equipment at 8 even though it had been reduced because of COVID 19. Local amenities are a bit sparse but we knew this when booking. However the amenities at the cottage were excellent. There was a great variety of games which we all enjoyed. In the light of COVID 19 we felt the owners had done alot to create a cottage which was clean and safe to be in. Thank you for that. PS we found the overhead shower in the end bathroom ran rather hot and even though we had turned on the cold water as much as it would go it was still was rather hot. It was excellent and our second time there with our close family having grown from before.

It was excellent and our second time there with our close family having grown from before. If there are quite a number of you ie 12 or more with children the limiting factor is that there are just 3 bathrooms and most of us are used to a bathroom each or between two. But everything was wonderful and we didn't let the rain get in the way of going out everyday and bbq the days we wanted to. The kids really loved seeing the cows being milked every day and we even saw a calf being born. The hot tub was a really nice touch and most of us went in at some point. The farm roads are a challenge for ordinary cars in terms of potholes so take it easy and leave any sporty cars with low ground clearance at home as we did. We took my wife's more run of the mill hatchback. I think our family will seriously think about returning again one day. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We were a family of 6 children and 6 adults with 3 dogs, what a fantastic place to stay. The garden made this holiday for us, sun all day ( we were lucky and had fantastic weather). Our 6 grandchildren and 3 dogs loved the garden which is totally enclosed. This is a beautiful farmhouse with stunning views for the garden.

This is a beautiful farmhouse with stunning views for the garden. It is extremely well equipped with 2 ovens which made cooking for 12 easy. The only thing was that the fridge in the utility room tended to freeze things and one of the drawers in the freezer was broken. Other than this the it was beautifully clean and the owners were really helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay there again.

The welcome pack was amazing. Fresh bread was baking in a bread maker as we arrived , fresh farm butter, bacon & milk in the fridge. everything we needed was supplied, tea coffee, sugar, cleaning products even dog bowls & towels, the list is endless.This is on a working diary farm but you have a secluded fenced garden which overlooks the wonderful Dorset countryside. The garden is immaculate & at night you could hear a pin drop. The place is so roomy but cosy with a wood burner in one lounge & inglenook fire place in the other. Overall a fantastic location to make family memories.

I would love to give a negative review just so that I could keep this absolute gem to myself. The whole family (3 generations) enjoyed badminton, croquet and table tennis. Hide and seek was great fun. The garden is beautiful. Would 100% recommend this cottage. Loved it.

This property was ideal for our whole family to relax on the run up to Easter.

This property was ideal for our whole family to relax on the run up to Easter. All of the bedrooms were large with an amazing amount of storage space. The layout of the rooms made it easy for the use of the bathrooms and having two toilets downstairs was ideal. the garden is large and well laid out to make the most of the wildlife. Two spacious lounges meant that we could keep the dog in one and allow the toddler to be in the other. The kitchen was always warm with the Aga range supplying the heat and there was everything you could possible want for food preparation and cooking.

Lovely comfortable cottage with stunning views all round. Ideal for large family groups of all ages with lots of games and activities provided. We enjoyed the table tennis, badminton, table football and hot tub. It was a bonus to have two lounges and the bedrooms/bathrooms worked well for our 3 families. The owners were very welcoming and helpful but despite two visits from George we failed to get the central heating to work when we needed it. The dog had the warmest room - the kitchen with the lovely warm Rayburn! This aside we all had a lovely week and would definitely recommend Purcombe Farmhouse.

Went along for a 70th birthday with family and had a great time. Beautiful location, with stunning scenery all around and the house suited our every need - the hot tub was an added bonus with the beautiful weather we had. Hassle free check in and check out and hope to go back again with friends. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for something relaxing and away from the huddle and bustle of it all but with beautiful beaches and market towns nearby.
