Perfect base for visiting family.
Perfect base for visiting family. Very comfortable and cosy. My host made sure everything was ok and provided some lovely goodies to welcome me. Thank you.
The cottage was very clean and nicely furnished with some lovely welcome treats upon arrival. It was also a lovely quiet place. The only downside, personally, was we would have preferred a small table and chairs near the foot of the stairs over bar stools at a breakfast bar.
Being able to use the log burner would have been nice but with a thatched roof, we understand the dangers of that.
Very clean, comfortable and very quiet. Friendly owners and cat.

What a lovely cottage.
What a lovely cottage. It was spotless, and there was a lovely welcome basket waiting.
Plenty of lovely fluffy towels, and enormous very comfortable bed. I think for me the icing on the cake was that when we decided to light the log fire I opened it up and found it was already laid! Just a match and we had a lovely cosy evening.
I could have stayed so much longer. Thank you Pippa. It was just what we needed.

Felt at home as soon as we opened the front door.
Felt at home as soon as we opened the front door. Very clean and comfortable. Spacious throughout. Lovely welcome basket on arrival including treats for the dogs as well as humans. Well stocked kitchen. No dishwasher although quite enjoyed some mindful washing up. Great size bed. We have a super king bed at home so was well chuffed that the cottage had one too. Enclosed garden to rear great for our dogs. We were very happy with Happy Cottage and would recommend to others.

Lovely cottage.
Lovely cottage. with everything we needed. Pippa welcomed us personally, and the cream tea was a lovely touch. The log fire was gorgeous, and very welcome on the autumnal evenings.
It's a little out of the way, but that was our choice, but there are some fantastic local walks, and our two dogs enjoyed themselves immensely.
I would recommend Happy Cottage to anyone.

Happy Cottage is better than the pictures.
Happy Cottage is better than the pictures. Although it's located in a rural area, there is a brilliant nearby fish and chips (eat in or takeaway). Appledore and beaches in decent driving distance and some great National Trust estates nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and have already told our friends about how nice it was. One has already made a booking for September.

A lovely cottage in the Devon countryside, right on the edge of Dartmoor.
A lovely cottage in the Devon countryside, right on the edge of Dartmoor. Cosy, well equipped and tastefully furnished, and the bed was very comfortable. The Welcome pack was much appreciated. Ideally situated to explore all of Devon. Lots of great restaurants locally, we particularly liked the fish and chip shop in the local village, The Tom Cobley in Spreyton for Sunday lunch, and The Globe Inn in Chagford. Highly recommended, and we look forward to our next visit!
