Peaceful Rural Location Set Within 5 Acres Of Pasture and Woodland, pet friendly
The cottage has character and charm and is set in the picturesque Devon countryside. It is peaceful and quiet with views from the land across open countryside. Dartmoor and Exmoor are easily accessible as are the North Devon beaches of Instow, Braunton, Saunton Sands, Ilfracombe and Woolacombe. Cyclists and walkers can also enjoy the nearby Tarka Trail which runs along a disused railway line. Great Torrington is the nearest town (about 15 minute drive) which has supermarkets, pubs and restaurants. The larger towns of Bideford and Barnstaple are about 30 minutes drive away. The RHS gardens at Rosemoor are closeby. The Globe at Beaford is the nearest pub (15minute drive) serving local beers and food. The holiday cottage is thought to be about 200 years old. It is joined to our own property and has it's own entrance. You will have exclusive use of a garden area to the front and access to the five acres of pasture and woodland and look over our wildlife pond. You can have a barbecue or sit around a campfire in the woods. The cottage has a wood burning stove for chilly evenings and full newly installed green air source heat pump, central heating. The water is heated and electricity generated by solar panels. Superfast fibre broadband is available for you to use. The cottage is a perfect base for your holiday in stunning North Devon

We had an absolutely fantastic, cosy, and memorable stay at this beautiful Vrbo property in North Devon. Our hosts, Linda and David, were superb. They were incredibly attentive and provided a useful recommendation for a stop on our return journey. Their warm welcome and attentiveness made us feel instantly at home. The cottage itself is delightful: perfectly equipped and wonderfully cosy and warm, even in late October. The setting is ideal—a quiet, rural retreat with lovely gardens and grounds, perfect for disconnecting and unwinding. As for amenities, the electric car charging port was a great, useful feature. It allowed us to charge our EV seamlessly, keeping the car charged for our daily excursions to various National Trust properties. If you're seeking a relaxing, high-quality escape with genuine and attentive hosts, we highly recommend this property!

Peaceful retreat
Very rural peaceful location. Greeted with a cream tea and fresh eggs, which was lovely. Clean and comfy, nice added touches like beach toys and board games for the kids, plus sky movies for the evenings. Would highly recommend for families or couples.
The house was clean and fully equipped. It was a bit on the chilly side in early April, but we lit the fire a couple of times which really helped to warm the cottage up. The owners were really helpful, friendly and accommodating, and it was reassuring they were just next door to assist with anything. We had a great few days exploring the coast mainly and the cottage was a fantastic base for us!
The property owners we lovely, low key, helpful and friendly. Nestling into the fields and trees and attached to the adjoining the owners house, this beautiful country hideaway was superbly appointed. Very comfortable, cosy, spacious, all mod cons including fully functioning wifi.
The private hedged and lawned garden in front of the property was in full summer bloom and at our disposal, complete with table and chairs and fire pit which we made good use of, the owners provided wood for us too!
Set within a large magical woodland and wild meadows, along with a large pond with jetty, this private and well kept hideaway had commanding views over the surrounding views over the southern hills and wide open sky.
Winding narrow lanes soon lead you out to the main roads making north Devon attractions easily reachable. We're going back and you should investigate too as it will exceed your expectations.
Fantastic communication both pre-visit and throughout the stay.
The owners are in the house attached to the property but you never hear them or know that they are their.
Their is a cottage opposite with a little old lady in which you hardly ever see, her dog does like calling around "Toby" not sure my little dog liked that as she is a recluse. Lovely old dog.
As I just said nothing around, you can open your door and let the dog just go out to the toliet. Nothing but gardens and fields. The cottage is approx. 3.2 miles away from anything but fields.
Seems a bit weird because you are near loads of things to do.
Reccomend: Tarka trail 15 mins away, old railway walk or we hired push bikes and put my dog in the basket, cycled to instowe and bideford. Both worth a visit, Instow beach beautiful for dogs.
Dartington glass is near, plenty to do and a lovely retreat to go back to.
Everything is catered for at the cottage, cutlery, oven, microwave, heating , sky T.V need to ask owners for code for the films as its connected with next door (same house)
Would definitely stay again.
Lovely comfortable space, in a remote area but within easy driving reach of shops and pubs. Fast internet and good WiFi signal, and a large Smart TV with DVD player. Spacious grounds with peaceful places to sit and enjoy the view. Excellent communication from the hosts before and during the stay
Just got back from a lovely peaceful trip, the cottage had everything we needed, beds were really comfy and great quality. The hosts were friendly, had some great recommendations and were there if needed. We felt very welcome to explore the grounds, the gardens were beautiful and every corner there was something to see, like a ‘Secret Garden’, me and my Lab had big smiles on our faces exploring, especially the meadow. Hope to visit again, thanks for hosting us xxx
Excellent amenities, everything you need,Beautiful house, very spacious and comfortable.Very secluded location, perfect for a quiet break.Very clean. Excellent parking and gorgeous gardens to walk round, cool treehouse Nice and private.
Our entire experience at this property was nothing short of amazing. The cottage was beautiful and cozy, and the explorable land was incredible and undeniably peaceful. The land was wonderfully maintained and secluded, providing a feeling of safety and tranquility. Inside the cottage there was everything that we needed (a microwave, fridge, small freezer, cooker, washing machine, etc), as well as a beautiful log burner that the hosts had made sure was well-stocked. The beds were very comfortable and we all had a great nights sleep. Our hosts were kind and very hospitable, providing us with a sweet welcome hamper, showing us around the property and encouraging us to look around and explore the woodland, meadow, and pond. Would most definitely recommend this cottage!
The house was cosy .space outside was amazing with walk in woods wildlife pond. Garden was well equipped with plenty of seating. Peaceful location. Host thought of everything to make our stay a place from home . On hand if need be (but not feeling as if being watched ) Dogs had plenty to sniff everytime we walked around the woods and field.Absolutely amazing just what we needed.
We had a lovely peaceful weekend away here. Lynda was very welcoming even though we arrived 5 hours late due to motorway closure. Nice secluded woodland for the dogs to roam about in. Well equipped cottage and comfortable beds which is always a bonus.

A lovely location with full use of the grounds which we greatly enjoyed, strolling with our dog around the pond and the meadow and sitting out in the secluded garden when the weather permitted. The house was comfortable and well equipped, and best of all, peaceful.
The house is well located for visiting the countryside and north coast of Devon.
A slight quibble, in that, on a cold wet first day, the house was not warm enough, but that was quickly remedied with the owners, who were very helpful throughout.
A lovely, spacious property that was perfect for our needs. We used it as a base to explore North Devon and visit friends, and were happy to return to it in the evening. Highly recommended 😊
No Place really is like no other place! Surrounded by beautiful countryside and so very quiet and peaceful. Great touristy spots within driving distance, eg Bideford, Barnstaple, Woolacombe and Ilfracombe. Would recommend one of the local pubs, The Globe Inn, at Beaford too - great food! We hope to visit No Place again.
Comfortable and homely rental to base ourselves from for a week exploring North Devon and the South West Coastal path. Beautiful garden, peaceful location. Lynda, our host, couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating.
We loved our stay at No Place. The owners were very helpful and welcoming. Cottage was really cosy. The thing that hit us the most was how peaceful it was! Lovely grounds to explore around the cottage itself. I would highly recommend a visit to the fabulous Rosemoor Gardens which are only about 15 minutes away. And The Globe Inn at Beaford does a fabulous Sunday roast! We very much hope we get the chance to go back and stay here again.
Lovely cottage and location, if you want to get away from town/city life. We took our two dogs and the Springer especially loved the grounds, woodland and wildflower meadow.
Close enough to great walks and a drive to the beaches. Plenty to see and do in the greater area.
Superb communication from the owner throughout the booking process and the extra basket of goodies on arrival after a 5hr trek was much appreciated. 😃
Recommended.
Comfortable cottage with an eco friendly ethos, very rural and quiet.
We enjoyed our stay, sadly didn't get to explore much of the grounds due to a fractured foot which was a shame.
Warm welcome from Lynda who was able to recommend a couple of places with flat walks for us to explore.
We had a lovely week here. The cottage was charming and very comfortable. I particularly appreciated the eco-friendly modifications which have been made to the property :)
Lynda and David were very friendly and welcoming and were happy to suggest places for us to visit.
The gardens were beautiful and fun to explore. Our little dog loved running around the meadow and in the woodland area. The kids spent a lot of time in the hammock and the treehouse.
Thoroughly recommend, and would love to go back sometime.

About the host
Hosted by Lynda Partridge
My husband and I live in rural Devon with our pet dogs and chickens. We moved here in 2013 as our own 'escape to the country'. We love the beautiful English countryside, the seclusion and the friendly locals. After holidaying in Devon for many years, this was our favourite area and where we chose to settle.
Why they chose this property
Our cottage has character and charm and is set in the picturesque Devon countryside. It is peaceful and quiet with views from the land across open countryside. It is set in five acres of pasture and woodland. The New Inn at Roborough is the nearest pub (1.5 miles) and serving food and local beers.
What makes this property unique
Our holiday cottage is thought to be about 200 years old. It is joined to our own property and has it's own entrance. You will have exclusive use of a garden area to the front and access to the five acres of pasture and woodland and access to our new for 2021 wildlife pond. You can have a barbecue or sit around a campfire in the woods. The cottage has a wood burning stove for chilly evenings and full central heating. The water is heated and electricity generated by solar panels. The cottage is tastefully decorated with a fully fitted country kitchen. New for 2022, refurbished bathroom and newly decorated downstairs bedroom. The beds are both kingsize, downstairs having a Tempur mattress. Superfast broadband fitted and available at no extra cost. Bed linen, towels and first basket of logs will be provided. The cottage is a perfect base for your holiday in stunning North Devon
