This charming, semi-detached holiday cottage is set in the ‘picture postcard’ village of Hedley on the Hill, only 15 minutes from Corbridge in the south of Hadrian’s Wall country, in a very pretty part of this friendly, unspoilt county. The views from the village across the Tyne Valley are spectacular, and the property has a rear sitting-out area to relax in. This is a charming base from which to tour the many attractions in the area, or make a holiday out of a visit for a special event, such as the Great North Run or a university graduation ceremony.
Corbridge is a historic, pretty little market town with charming pubs and tea rooms, and the area is perfect for cyclists and walkers - the whole of Hadrian’s Wall can be followed on a special trail and many Roman forts can be visited along the route. Head to Newcastle with its museums and shopping, bustling Hexham or historic Durham. Sample some of the local produce in the many delis and farm shops around the area. Roam free in rolling countryside, visiting quaint villages or head to the city and see the Angel of the North, or visit BALTIC and other museums in Newcastle. Hexham is dominated by a medieval abbey (built of stone from Hadrian’s Wall) and the Old Gaol depicts the Border Reivers’ story.
Durham is within easy reach by car. Don’t miss the Heritage coast, less than an hour away, by heading north and sampling the many castles and miles of golden sandy beaches. An ideal location from which to explore this wonderful county from inland to the coast. The local real ale pub opposite (open Thursday to Sunday) has won numerous awards for its food, including British Gastropub of the Year and a North East England Tourism Gold Award. Beach 25 miles. Shop 3½ miles, pub and restaurant 50 yards.

Lovely stay in Hedley Cottage
Cottage was lovely and a perfect location for us to visit family. Cottage itself was very clean and had everything we needed (and more). Check in was easy & Rosie was a great host.

This is a lovely warm cottage, we wanted for nothing only better weather.
This is a lovely warm cottage, we wanted for nothing only better weather. The owner Rosie could not do enough for us, she was there when we arrived and showed us how everything worked. obviously because of the virus some things had been removed but it was not a problem. Rosie did say "if there is anything you want just ring me" which we did and she was happy to help us. TO EVERYONE WHO IS LOOKING AT THIS COTTAGE AND HAS VIRUS CONCERNS - FORGET THEM!!!! we rang Rosie twice before we went to check on the safety issues and she put our minds at rest. The area is remote with a pub opposite which is open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The village of Prudhoe is about three miles away where you can get anything you need including Italian and Chinese fast food. If you want a place to be on your own and safe look no further. There are lots of local walks in the countryside and further afield such as Hadrians Wall, Derwent Water and Kielder Water. We went to a little village called Wylam, as you enter the village there is a little car park set back on the right, we parked in there and walked on a wide tarmaced path that runs along the side of the river, it is a lovely flat walk and you can travel about 4 miles along it, you will even see the cottage where Stephenson Rocket designer lived as a child. Overall and very relaxing and Safe holiday, Thanks Rosie. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We loved the cottage.
We loved the cottage. It was warm, comfortable and very clean. The score for equipment is only because of COVID restrictions but it was still adequately equipped. Especially because of COVID we loved the very quiet location and could easily walk from the door. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo
