Occupying a wonderful rural location, accessed via a drive, overlooking Loch Sunart, the island of Carna and the Morven Hills, this detached holiday home, designed and built by two young architects, offers an excellent base for touring the Ardnamurchan Peninsula. Visit Ardnamurchan Point with its unmanned lighthouse and visitor centre, explore the white sandy beach of Sanna Bay, or call in at the Glenmore Natural History Centre. An abundance of wildlife can be spotted including whales, dolphins, otters and Golden Eagles. A foot ferry from nearby Salen runs to Tobermory on the island of Mull, or from Kilchoan there is a more regular car ferry. The Isles of Skye, Rum, Egg and Canna can be reached from the fishing port of Mallaig. A superb area for walking, fishing, biking and a variety of watersports. Good tearoom 4 miles. Shop and pub 5 miles, restaurant 7 miles.

The water is from a spring, well or borehole, and not a mains supply.

West Bothy is a lovely place to stay.
West Bothy is a lovely place to stay. Wonderful outlook, very comfortable, and two pine martens came to visit! The location is great for exploring Ardnamurchan including a boat trip from Ardnamurchan Charters who are based down the hill in Laga. Wildlife spotting was great - porpoises on Loch Sunart. There were many lovely places to visit and the Salen Jetty Shop is really great - we recommend the cakes and ice cream there. Overall a wonderful week in a most lovely cottage!
