Within easy reach are the ski slopes of the Lecht and Cairngorm, or by contrast enjoy the wonderful sandy beaches of the Moray Firth around Lossiemouth and Nairn, where the famous Moray Firth dolphins can be regularly spotted. Visit the fairytale Ballindalloch Castle, two miles, or the ruins of Drumin Castle and its walled garden. The malt whisky trail starts close by, with Cragganmore Distillery less than one mile from the house. There are very good shops including a delicatessen at Aberlour, nine miles, large supermarkets in Elgin, 25 miles, and Inverness, 47 miles.
