Bedroom 3: Bunk (3ft) Beds. Economy 7 central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Highchair.. Enclosed lawned rear garden with sitting-out area and garden furniture. Lawned front garden. Bike store. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. Enjoying a peaceful village setting only a few minutes’ walk from a gallery cafe, pub and restaurant, The Heathers has been equipped and furnished with ample storage throughout to ensure a relaxing and comfortable holiday. Boat of Garten, known as the Osprey Village, lies adjacent to the River Spey and is set in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This is an outdoor enthusiasts’ paradise - amongst the many activities available are skiing in the Cairngorms or the Lecht, mountain biking, walking, fishing, climbing, zip lining and golf - to name but a few. Take a trip on the Strathspey Steam Railway (110 yards from the house) or the Cairngorm Mountain Funicular Railway to enjoy breathtaking scenery whilst getting some clean Scottish air! Close by is the RSPB reserve at Loch Garten and a renowned golf course, with pleasant woodland walks literally 55 yards from the doorstep. Top quality water sports on Loch Morlich and Loch Insh are also nearby. For the less energetic, just relax and unwind in this lovely area.

We really enjoyed our stay at Heather's cottage.

We really enjoyed our stay at Heather's cottage. The house was clean, welcoming and perfect for us. The dog loved the garden. It was an ideal location to visit the sights of the Cairngorms. We would be happy to return again and hope to do so next year!

Brilliant location and lovely area to stay in. House has everything thing you need and a lovely in closed garden. Only two things I would say need replaced is the double bed mattress and also the cooker has no hitting settings as this has been rubbed away. But would definitely go back. Lovely cottage with a good secure garden for our large dog and driveway parking for our vehicle. Property was clean, tidy and well equipped. Only two slight niggles: 1. the hob took an age to warm up so any cooking needed planning ahead; 2. the shower was like having to wash under a dripping tap; but we only to do it for a week so no real problem. A good base for our first trip to the Highlands which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Love both The Heathers & Boat of Garten.

Love both The Heathers & Boat of Garten. It's a very comfortable cottage, that's fully equipped for a self catering holiday. There's a small shop in Boat for bits & pieces, but there are supermarkets in Avimore, about 10 mins away by car. The garden is fully enclosed, which is great for dogs (and children!). You can walk from the door; with forest at the end of the cul-de-sac, or you are minutes to the River Spey, where you can walk along the banks. We walked Abernethy Forest, Rothimurchus Estate, Glenmore Forest, around Grantown & Carrbridge, and all were within 30 mins by car. We also managed to catch the steam train (dog friendly), and find a few distilleries (not dog friendly, but we had a non whiskey drinker who was happy to entertain the dog during visits!). We will definitely be back to the area, and hopefully our base at The Heathers.

Just back from a 4 day stay at The Heathers. House was very comfortable, has a very secure back garden and is ideally situated for great walks for dogs. Would definitely consider returning.
