Such a comfortable & cosy cottage that was well equipped for your stay.
Such a comfortable & cosy cottage that was well equipped for your stay. Comfortable bed, quality bedding, little toiletries extras in the ensuite if you have forgotten them Host left some local treats- biscuits, milk & eggs Good WiFi connection & easy to set upIt was lovely to sit and watch the birds feeding in the garden. Some local walks given by the hosts Some guests have mentioned about hearing B&B guests in adjoining part of the cottage, we didn’t have this issue as we were the only guests Sofa was a bit uncomfortable, but this wouldn’t stop from visiting again. A little gem about 7 miles from Bridport where you can chill and relax

A quaint cottage that had everything you require for a self catering holiday.
A quaint cottage that had everything you require for a self catering holiday. Needs a little attention to certain areas but that is what made it so quaint A really comfortable bed so a great nights sleep. Shower was amazing. Wonderful greeting from Judy with a lovely homemade pear and almond tart which was delicious as well as milk and eggs from her chickens. The village was a little out in the country but it was so peaceful and the view of the starts were amazing. You will find Judy kind and helpful. A lovely lady.

This cottage was really lovely as were the owners! Arrived to a freshly baked cake, some milk and eggs and bird food for the feeder on the patio. Cottage was just the right size with everything you need for a week away from home. The bed was extremely comfortable with nice fresh linen on it. Internet was fine once we had signed in although mobile reception a little dodgy. Good selection of information leaflets and maps are provided. Patio very nice and we watched plenty of wildlife in the garden through the patio doors. Garden is secured well which was important as we took our dog with us. Good recommendation of a walk straight from the cottage which was useful for an early morning wander for the dog including two water splashes which were much enjoyed! All in all, 5 stars all round for this lovely secluded cottage.

Enjoyed a relaxing week with our dog at The Old Forge.
Enjoyed a relaxing week with our dog at The Old Forge. Great location for exploring the area, the cottage was sparkling clean on arrival and had everything we needed. The bed was amazing and we had a great nights sleep. The owner was very friendly and not at all intrusive. There was some building work going on next door but this didn’t affect us, as by the time we came home in the afternoon/early evening, they had gone. I’m already recommending The Old Forge to friends and family and we hope to return again ourselves at some point.

We had a fantastic extended stay at the Old Forge.
We had a fantastic extended stay at the Old Forge. The cottage is comfortable, clean and very well equipped, with a pretty outlook. The location is in a beautiful and peaceful part of Dorset not far from the coast, with walks from the door and markets and artisanal food offerings in nearby villages. My husband is an avid cyclist and had stunning rides. We enjoyed the sounds of birds and the trickle of the stream running through the hamlet during our dinners on the outdoor terrace, and the owners are incredibly charming and helpful. We would definitely go back.

The Old Forge is the most idyllic place to stay in Dorset. The welcome you receive is wonderful and the cleanliness of the place is impeccable. The small hamlet of Wraxall is peaceful and good for the soul. Excellent links to the A37 and A356. Definitely a place we will be staying in again.

It was a romantic Christmas break, and it was just that.
It was a romantic Christmas break, and it was just that. Judy decorated the Old Forge and supplied a lovely Christmas hamper for us. The bed was so comfortable and the shower was great too.
If I had a criticism it would be the coffee table is too big for the Forge but that is my own opinion.

Fantastic holiday cottage for two in idyllic Dorset countryside.
Fantastic holiday cottage for two in idyllic Dorset countryside. Dogs welcomed and the separate entrance hall allows you to deal with your wet or muddy canine friend easily. It only needs the stream running through the garden to be fenced off and your pooch could be allowed to run loose outside. Not a problem for us in November but in earlier months with warmer days you'd want to be outside on the patio and not worry about where your dog had got to!
