The village of Hooe was once surrounded by sea although 2 miles from the coast now. Pevensey is one of the south’s leading locations for windsurfing and water sports. Battle takes its name from the 1066 Battle of Hastings, and was once home to one of the country’s largest gunpowder works. Shop 1 mile, pub ½ mile.

Perfect for a peaceful getaway

If you want to get away from it all & enjoy the peace of the Sussex countryside the Cart Lodge is perfect. Great little cottage, which is well equipped & in a good location to explore East Sussex. The sheep in the field are great fun, demanding their biscuits as you sit & enjoy the sun. Thanks Nina for a great week

Very cosy accommodation

We had a terrific stay in this lovely cottage and it was great feeding the sheep in the fields. Can’t wait to be able to stay again.

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay at the cart lodge.

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay at the cart lodge. The owners are friendly and the place is full of homely touches to make your stay comfortable. Loved having my morning tea on the sunny terrace with the sheep coming to greet you. So peaceful, would definitely recommend. Short walk to the pub also!
