About this property
Coastguard Cottage With Sea Views
This victorian coast guard cottage sits high on top of the cliff in acres of country parkland. With spectacular views from every window ! A paradise for walkers, ( and dogs ! ) it also has the benefit of being 10 mins drive from Hastings Old Town with its famous fishing community, eclectic mix of shops, restaurants, beach and rail link to London and Brighton. 15 mins in the other direction takes you to the beautiful clique port town of Rye and the white sand beach at Camber beyond. The new visitor centre in the country park , is a stroll away, good for breakfast or light lunch . “The Cove “ is a 20 min walk across the cliff top into Fairlight village. A very good foodie pub, using local produce and serving local beer, it has something for everyone with lovely atmosphere.

We really enjoyed our weekend break.Walks with the dogs from the doorstep and lots of other interesting places nearby to visitThe cottage had everything we needed
We found the cottage to be very comfortable and well equipped. Great walks direct from the front door especially to The Cove for a very enjoyable early dinner. We all agreed it is one of the nicest places we have stayed in. We would love to return in the summer to really explore the area and see the views on sunny days.
Fab views, warm cosy cottage , a real dog owners delight as you and your pup can walk straight out onto the nature reserve. Seals, whales, birds and stars . Highly recommend
Behind a modest façade lies a perfectly modernized and cosy cottage with a fenced garden for a dog. Stunning seaviews and only 100 meters away from the coastal path with great walks!
The cottage is very comfortable, with everything included for an enjoyable and relaxing stay. We really didn’t want to leave. The kitchen is very well-equipped as is the rest of the cottage.
It’s in a lovely location with fine walks and stupendous sunrises.
Cosy and rustic cottage with everything you need for an enjoyable holiday. Amazing views and walks on your doorstep. Great pub in the village close by.
We stayed over the new years break. Karen left us some delicious truffles and bubbly which was thoughtful! Communication with Karen was great from the beginning. Pictures doesn’t do the cottage justice it was much bigger than I thought. Unfortunately my husband and I caught a cold so we weren’t feeling up for exploring but our friends did and lived Rye. The views were picturesque but when it’s windy you know about it! Would definitely recommend! Thank you Karen

Fantastic
Really lovely homely place to stay. Views & walks lovely
Wonderfully situated in countryside near cliffs with far views in all directions. Close to nature, sea air and peace. Easy access, parking, well-appointed cottage, friendly neighbour and welcoming host made for a care-free time. We were blessed with the finest weather this year yet, which was a delightful bonus. Would be happy to return for a longer stay and recommend to others.
We spent 3 nights in this lovely cottage within the country Park, the cottage is incredibly well equipped in the kitchen , the views are amazing, all the way along the coast, Pett levels, Rye, Camber sands, Dungeness and in one particularly clear night France!
Karen responded to queries immediately and was an excellent host. I certainly recommend this cottage.
The Coastguard cottage was much bigger than we thought
from the pictures on the internet. We could have done with
more hot water as there was 6 of us and 4 would have liked a bath. the log burner was great really cosy and warm.
The National reserve was lovely great walks and scenery.
Apart from the fabulous views, the property was very well equipped, comfortable and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. We invited family over for a celebration lunch and it all went very well. We had no idea we were virtually inside a gorgeous nature reserve, which was the icing on the cake. Thank you so much.

About the host

Our family bought the cottage eight years ago, Over the years we fell in love with the area and have now moved to Hastings old town ! As our children are now grown up . it has lots to do ... has a very village neighbourly feeling ..great pubs and good food ...as well as great vintage shops where a bargain can still be found!!! But for peace and tranquility and the views you can't beat the cottage and I still find my self staring out of windows entranced..... On a clear night you can see the lights of France twinkling across the sea. 'Stanley our dog is in heaven chasing rabbits along the cliff top, and the birds across the beach. One day we may retire to the cottage but for now we are happy to share our little piece of heaven with you !
