Character Beamed Country Retreat with self check in/out in historic 1066 country

With self check in and check out and situated in the owners’ stunning 2 acre grounds which includes an orchard that guests can enjoy on their own, this attractive beamed, spacious detached character property is perfect for a relaxing break. The property is accessed via its own external oak open tread stairs. We have fibre broadband with the Little Brook WiFi router connected directly to it. It is wonderfully finished with a recently refurbished balcony off the living area affording countryside views and conveniently set back from the A28. There are many country walks directly from the property, several fine pubs are within a 5 - 15 minute drive and beaches are around a 20 minute drive away. Around 20 minutes to Battle, with its famous battlefield and abbey, built to commemorate the Battle of Hastings in 1066. Relive one of the most famous days in history, and join the 1066 walk. Take a trip on the Kent and East Sussex Steam Railway from Tenterden, also known as ’The Jewel of the Weald’, through the Rother Levels to Bodiam, one of the most evocative moated castles (National Trust), built in 1385. Discover the one time coastal smuggling town of Hastings and medieval Cinque Port town of Rye just 8 miles away with its cobbled streets. Picturesque sand dunes and interesting wildlife can be explored at Camber Sands around 30 minutes away.

A lovely sanctuary away from the busyness of life. The property was clean, beautiful and very comfortable and we were rewarded with a stunning dawn chorus each morning. The gardens are beautiful and Janet and Grant our hosts met our requests promptly and with generosity. I would thoroughly recommend this property for anyone looking for a peaceful country retreat.

Didn't meet the owners or see the dogs so can't comment on that aspect.Bed was massive and comfy.The place had everything you could need for a comfortable break.We did download the 'what 3 words app' which found the words but then directed us to Waze or Google maps, but despite having phones open on each app we had difficulty finding the location as it was 4.30pm and getting dark. We obviously found it and got in after a few hiccups. The place was quite chilly when we arrived so we turned the heaters on which worked a treat.
