Welcome to your relaxing retreat by the sea. This Scandinavian-style timber cottage is tucked away in a peaceful spot in Jury’s Gap, Camber Sands, offering the perfect escape from the hustle of daily life. Whether you’re here to recharge, work remotely, enjoy time with family, or explore the coast, this quiet haven offers the best of both worlds—seaside simplicity with modern comfort.
The beach is literally just across the road, so you can start every morning with a walk along the shore or enjoy an evening sunset without ever having to drive. At the back of the cottage, you’ll find open fields and big skies—perfect for a moment of calm, a morning coffee, or a quiet place to work.
We welcome one small or medium-sized dog, so your four-legged friend can enjoy the break too. With coastal paths, countryside walks and quiet spaces nearby, it’s a perfect base for pets and their people.
This cosy space is also well-suited to small families looking to spend quality time together by the sea. There’s room for up to four guests, with a king-size bed and a sofa bed. With the beach right outside and plenty of nearby activities for all ages, it’s a great choice for parents travelling with one or two children.
Just a short stroll from the cottage, you’ll find a friendly local surf school, offering lessons and equipment hire for all levels. Whether you're keen to try something new or have little ones interested in riding the waves, it’s a fantastic way to make the most of your coastal stay.
Please note we do not supply any travel cots.
Guest Access:
Key safe is located at the property and details are given 3 days prior to arrival.
The Neighbourhood:
Situated just half a mile from the property is the local BKSA Kite school and national training centre. The centre offers lessons in kiteboarding, powerkiting, kite buggying, kite landboarding, hydrofoiling, stand up paddleboarding along with a variety of group activity days.
The house is only a few minutes’ drive to the medieval Cinque Port town of Rye for shops, pubs, and restaurants.
Why not take the opportunity to reconnect with nature by visiting the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. Here you can discover the wildlife in a mosaic of coastal habitats- shingle, salt marsh, saline lagoons, coastal grazing marsh, freshwater gravel pits and reedbeds. Explore the ever-changing coastline and military history, or simply enjoy a walk beside the sea.
The area also contains considerable historic interest with military fortifications from the 16th, 19th and 20th centuries, a lifeboat disaster and evidence of people’s early efforts to defend the land from the sea. The flat, open, and historic landscape is popular with visitors. It can provide an incredibly special experience. There is a good network of footpaths that enable much of Nature Reserve to be visited from access points in Rye Town, Winchelsea Beach and Rye Harbour.
Why not bring your bike and try out one of the local cycle paths, from Rye you can pick up the National Cycle Network Route 2 just after the last few houses on the right-hand side? The cycle path follows the course of the road for the most part, dipping inland a couple of times until crossing the road just after the sailing lake. It then cuts across the sheep fields, on a tarmac path, arriving at Rye at the road bridge.
