The Haybarn is in a wonderful, quiet location with fabulous views.
The Haybarn is in a wonderful, quiet location with fabulous views. It is very clean, comfortable, roomy and thoughtfully equipped. The owners are really helpful but also unobtrusive. The location is very rural and so there are no amenities within walking distance, but plenty of lovely countryside.

The property was warm, clean and comfortable ,beds and bedding were good quality. The 3 bathrooms provided ample hot water , the water pressure good enough for showers to be used at the same time without loss of pressure or temperature.
The open plan living area appeared smaller than in the photos, with 6 in the property it may be a little tight but as there were only 3 of us it wasn’t a problem. The views down the valley were a spectacle we never tired of.
The property is down a very narrow road which appears quite daunting at first but. is easily negotiated slowly and with care
Information at the cottage is a little” ad hoc”,a folder with all the information in one place would help. Clearer instruction about what rubbish goes where would have been appreciated. Possibly a multibinned container in the utility room would help with the recycling.
Overall our stay was excellent, the cottage was a wonderful rural retreat to return to at the end of a day’s exploring. It is ideally placed to explore both England and Wales.

A welcoming retreat, equipped with all you need for a relaxing break.
A welcoming retreat, equipped with all you need for a relaxing break. The drive to the Haybarn is up and down a narrow single track unlit road, tucked away from passing traffic but the reward when you arrive is the most stunning outlook across the valley below and over to the welsh hills around Abergavenny and beyond. Nicely located for exploring the Wye valley, Forest of Dean, or further afield to the Brecon Beacons. Just a short drive from Chepstow and The Severn Bridges too. We hope to return again with friends; having 3 en-suite bedrooms means no one needing to worry about queuing for the bathroom!
