Spent happy week here in November in awful weather! Cottage has open stairs and virtually no landing which was uncomfortable in the night if you needed the bathroom. Not good for tall people as low lintels. Otherwise very comfortable. Nice kitchen, living room and extra sitting room. Lacked a tea strainer for those of us that bring tea leaves! Very convenient for Bath without the price. Lovely village of Marshfield not far away.

Rose Cottage is delightful! Lots of character whilst providing plenty of modern home comforts.
Rose Cottage is delightful! Lots of character whilst providing plenty of modern home comforts. Everything was spotlessly clean. Cold Ashton is a sleepy village with no facilities within walking distance. Marshfield is the closest town which has a couple of pubs and a general store.
The owner of Rose Cottage, Monika, is extremely helpful and friendly. Rose Cottage is perfect for couples or families with young children. The log fire in the front room was great to come home to after a day's walking or cycling. We had a wonderful holiday. Thank you!

Rose Cottage was beautiful and cosy.
Rose Cottage was beautiful and cosy. It was a real home from home. The hamlet it is in was very quiet even with a road diversion. The two pubs in the next village served good meals.

An idyllic English country cottage in a wonderfully rural location with views across the fields, yet close enough to Bath to enjoy the delights that the city of Bath has to offer.
Monica, the owner, was there to welcome us to the cottage - making us feel like we had a home from home.
The wood burning stove in the cosy snug was most welcoming after a long walk in the rain. Likewise the large TV in the sitting room was ideal for watching the rugby World Cup!
Thank you.

V nice cottage but the stairs are lethal as the handrail is tight to the wall and you are unable to grip it fully. Otherwise well equipped cottage with small garden which gets little sun due to the tall bushes.
Location is beautiful and very convenient for Bath and surrounds.
The village has no amenities so you have to drive to get anything. Beautiful walks around as you are on the Cotswold Way.

There are no facilities in the hamlet so expect to drive for trips, eating out or shopping. We have been there before so knew what to expect and was exactly what we wanted.
The cooking facilities in the property are excellent with good size fridge and separate freezer so convenient if you want to take your own food.
Had an excellent stay and will return when we next want to go to Bath.

You need a car as the nearest shopping and pub (the Catherine wheel or Lord Nelson) are in Marshfield. A great spot to centrally locate yourself to visit Bath, Bristol, Stonehenge, Lacock and the Cotswolds. We had a great week and the land lady is awesome.
