Discover the Applecross Peninsula from this stunning holiday property.
Discover the Applecross Peninsula from this stunning holiday property. Enjoy walks, cycling and climbing or just enjoy the scenery.. Nestled into the hillside, in a sheltered and secluded position, and enjoying some of the most spectacular views imaginable, Tigh An Iasgair is a superb, detached, architect-designed house situated on the Applecross Peninsula. This stunning, warm and light-filled property is beautifully presented throughout, with great attention to detail. The main living area is open plan. With high vaulted ceilings and large patio doors it is exceptionally light and spacious. A large multi-fuel stove acts a focal point. The patio doors open onto a paved patio, a wonderful spot to sit and drink in the views of sea, mountains and open countryside. The grounds lead down to the sea shore below. There is a beautiful sheltered beach 4 minutes away at the end of Fearnbeg village.
There are three large bedrooms, all superbly presented. Tigh An Iasgair, Gaelic for The Fisherman’s House, is completely eco-friendly, with a ground source heat pump supplying the underfloor heating throughout. Applecross Peninsula is renowned for its wild, rugged and unspoilt beauty. Until the building of this coastal road from Shieldaig, Applecross was one of the most inaccessible parishes in mainland Britain, with the only route being the very scenic but hair-raising ‘Pass of the Cattle’, or Bealach na Ba. Rising up to 2053ft, it is the highest road in Scotland and affords truly panoramic views across the Minch to Raasay and the Isle of Skye. The other route gently winds along the coast round Loch Torridon from Shieldaig.
This is a fantastic area for hill walking, climbing in the Torridon Hills, kayaking around the coast and cycling the quiet lanes with amazing views around almost every corner. The surrounding region is a delight for nature lovers and the area is home to pine martens, wildcats, badgers and otters as well as buzzards and golden eagles. Shop, pub and restaurant 7 miles.. We highly recommend this cottage. It is exceptionally comfortable with all the amenities you may need. It’s remote with beautiful ever-changing views and big windows.
Amazing well equipped property, downstairs larger than expected and well decorated. The location is ideal for a get away and the views from downstairs were stunning.

We absolutely loved every minute of our stay at Tigh An Iasgair. The view from the living room is stunning in the sunshine, ever changing in the rain and mind blowing on a starry night. The house is beautiful and a pleasure to spend time and cook in. We were very sad to leave - it is a very special place.

We spent a magical week at Tigh an Iasgair and hope to go back.
It is a lovely house with everything you could want and is very comfortable. We enjoyed (midge free) afternoons sitting outside basking in the sunshine and evenings indoors hoping for a view of the resident pine marten that came to visit several times.
The views are stunning. Unbeatable. Majestic. Scotland at its best.
This is a great part of Scotland. It is off the beaten track but there is great walking, lovely beaches nearby and we even managed to catch some pollack from the rocks in front of the house and have it for dinner.
The house was super clean and were made to feel very much at home.

What a fantastic holiday.
What a fantastic holiday. Great views of the loch, comfortable warm and cosy cottage and a pine martin that visited in the evening. Loved the seclusion but was also able to get a Tesco delivery. The night sky was so bright with stars didn’t need tv. Would book again without hesitation.

What a fantastic house! Stunning! So Homely.
What a fantastic house! Stunning! So Homely. The small touches made us feel so at home. We loved the location and the views are sensational. The photos do not do this property justice. We had a couple rainy days when we stayed, but staying inside in this house was a pleasure. Cozy but so spacious. Only negative would be the lack of highchair but this was a minor issue. We loved our stay here and will definitely be back in the future. Book it! You will not be disappointed!

A lovely comfortable cottage in a stunning location.
A lovely comfortable cottage in a stunning location. It is well equipped and practically unseen from the road which appeared busier than our last visit eight years ago to this area. There is lots to see and do which necessitates a car, but we loved being able to walk straight from the cottage around the Fernbeg bay. The owners supply comprehensive information and quickly responded to any problems. A gem of a cottage in the Highlands!
