This cottage is a 10 minute walk to lovely Westgate beaches, and 5 minutes to village shops and station and has a bus stop just outside for trips to the rest of Thanet, Canterbury. Lovely large lounge space and we liked the garden. It was immaculately clean and had everything we needed for a week’s stay. Julian responded really quickly on a couple of queries when we arrived and went out of his way to make us comfortable. Would stay again.
Overall our impression was the cottage was comfortable with a lovely garden, with everything we needed. However, the decor and furnishings were very dated. The contents list needs updating with WiFi and hairdryer available.
Sehr schönes, gut gelegenes Ferienhaus mit guter Verkehrsanbindung
Wir haben den Urlaub in Westgate sehr genossen und haben von dort aus viele Ausflüge machen können.

A pleasing cottage with excellent connections to beach and surrounding area.
A pleasing cottage with excellent connections to beach and surrounding area. The proximity of the station meant we didnt need to use the car duriing our stay. Margate not even an hours stroll along the picturesque N.Kent coastline. Turner Museum for arty or non-arty people well worth a visit. Ramsgate a little further on is well worth an explore, best use train and walk, road works everywhere! Despite extremely wet weather, the cottage provided comfy respite from the outdoors, board games and books aplenty, big diappointment, the safety bureaucrats have prevented the use of the fire place, though the cottage was warm enough it would have provided a nice focal point! I hope we didn't disturb the neighbours, we had to turn the volume up on the television to drown out the drumming of the rain on the light and airy conservatory! More exploring to do, need to go in a westerly direction to Birchington-on-sea and betond to Whitstable. Definitely worth a revisit.

We like Ivy Cottage, it was our 6th visit in 12 years.
We like Ivy Cottage, it was our 6th visit in 12 years. We are made welcome by Vera, who lives next door. The house is clean and tidy and the front and back gardens are well kept and colourful. Off road parking and good location if you want to use buses.

A lovely cottage with convenient links to the buses and trains.
A lovely cottage with convenient links to the buses and trains. We were already very satisfied with the cottage then we found out there was wi fi! Our 3 teens were very happy. Welcome gifts were appreciated and the cottage has been a comfortable base to explore Margate and Broadstairs. There is a lot to do locally.
