My husband and I stayed here to have a small getaway and loved it! It was a bit difficult to find at first but otherwise the view was beautiful and we had a wonderful time!
Enjoyed our trip in this rural setting. Wanted to see the new river Gorge bridge and surrounding area. Neighborhood very quiet and peaceful. Dog able to run in the yard. Saw multiple deer. (Don’t follow GPS, as you will end up in neighbors old school bus on a lane next to the property driveway! )😳.
Enjoyed our stay!!
This is a quiet, peaceful location with a beautiful view of the valley just a short hop off the highway. Clean, well stocked and cozy. We were down quad riding and the trailheads we used were minutes away from the property making it extremely convenient. Additionally, the Freefolk brewery location just minutes away provided pizza and beer after our ride. A full grocery store is minutes away as well if you would rather cook your meal at the location either inside or on the provided grill. And there's a firepit (which had cut wood right beside it) for the late night, enjoying the sky evenings. I'll be back!
Loved the property! Came to enjoy the Gorge and this was so close! Shower floor caught me once and I did slip, tub bottom is very slick, may want to include some sort of sticky things on the tub bottom, landscaping could use a little help and the nest of wasps on the end of the front of the house, inside was comfy but the couch we either stuck to or was so cold we couldn’t sit on it long but comfy! Loved the ponds but needed more signage as to what we could use pond wise as there are others on the property and you can’t tell if it’s both usable or not. We will stay here again I’m sure, very welcoming and beautiful scenery! Will say a list of what channels available would be helpful for those days or nights that you want to just hang around and relax. Overall, great home to stay in.
When we first arrived at Hide-A-Way Hill, my first impression could be summarized as "clean, cozy and comfortable". Tucked away in a quiet, remote setting at the top of a steep hill, the place was surprisingly spacious for a small home trailer. The bathroom was a bit small but easily accessible. The master bedroom was very roomy with a large, comfortable bed well-stocked with plenty of pillows! The kitchen was bright and airy and amply supplied with all the cooking utensils and appliances necessary for meal preparation, whether one was serving a simple soup and sandwich for lunch or preparing a sumptious four-course dinner.
Hide-A-Way Hill is the perfect spot to "hide away" for a quiet weekend or a longer, extended period with family or friends. Highly recommended!
A little difficult to find at first but we were also arriving in the dark. Owner seemed annoyed that we didn’t follow her directions, but the gps brought us in from the complete other end of the main road so couldn’t be helped. She was very helpful on the phone to get us to the trailer. Dogs aren’t allowed on furniture and must be leashed and crated so we ended up not bringing ours, so that doesn’t feel very “pet friendly” but overall no complaints
Very clean, plenty of space to put things, nice layout, nice kitchen. Enjoyed the deck out front. Driveway is a little steep but we had no issues. Great view of mountains from deck. Nice washer and dryer. WIFI worked well. Quiet peaceful setting.
Comfortable place, extra attention to the little things, like movies and books for rainy days, coffee and tea to start the day, comfortable furniture to relax in. The decorations made us feel right at home too.
Property is neat and well kept. We were warm, dry and comfortable during our stay. Our host kept us well informed and communicated clearly with us. There were plenty of towels and hot water, wireless internet and direct TV. Kitchen had anything you could want cookware wise.
We came down to quad ride with the Lansing OGs and the route to the trail we took is at the end of the driveway so was super convenient. If you're looking for a place to rest and cook in between activities you can't go wrong. If you're looking for a 5 star hotel, keep looking.
This was such a wonderful stay. Very peacful and quiet. The trailer was immaculate. Plenty of stuff for cooking. Excellent fall views of the mountains. We enjoyed our stay very much. Fishing in the property. Once we arrived we did not leave the property until it was time to return home. Great stay.
The place was great on almost all counts. Did not like the driveway at all. The first time it took two tries. After that we knew what to do. The bathroom could use an upgrade. Other than those items, we were very comfortable. It was nice and warm as the temps were dropping.
We spent a lot of time hiking in the national park. It was nice to have downtime at a place that feels like home. Reminded me a lot of my granma's house actually. We were probably overly cautious about some of the roads but everything was fine.
The house had everything I needed for my trip. I cooked meals instead of eating out and the kitchen had all the essentials. Beds were super comfortable.
We so enjoyed a few days away and this property was the best! Very clean and the owners were so nice and helpful. My husband, son and his friend loved the fishing.
Hope to return again someday!
This was a very nice stay out in the country. We were only 20 min or less from Summersville Lake, it was so nice and peaceful. I recommend this location.
The house was cozy has everything you cpukd need towels linens soap a full kitchen just bring food amd coffee ! The scenery was beautiful! We went to new river atv and that was a incredible experience we also toured the new river gorge ! We saw cows and chickens and horses on our ride up to the house ! Firecreek is a yummy place for lunch or dinner and there is a yummy ice cream place in Fayetteville called the stache! We had a nice stay !
I could have never asked for a better place to stay! You have ponds on the property to fish in (catch and release) your right in the middle of all the attractions. Sitting out on the porch and not hearing anything but nature was so peaceful. The owners are so nice. Our weekend was just perfect and couldn’t recommend this place more.
