Adorable cottage in a cute little village. Plenty of outdoor space. Kitchen and bathroom clearly updated. Close to Stonehenge- very well located. Friendly neighbors. Be careful if you are over 6 feet tall- you may bump your head (as you might expect for a cottage of its time).
We really enjoyed our stay in the cottage and shared a a wonderful week together visiting Stonehenge, Salisbury Cathedral, and Portsmouth Maritime Museum.
And more locally lovely walks together with our pup and evenings in the friendly pubs !!
Mis Sold - Buyer Beware. Appalling Host, Appalling Agent, Appalling Service
I called the host to inform her that we had only just discovered that the Bathroom was downstairs.
This does not work for us as we have a young child who gets up at night to go to the bathroom.
I also highlighted that this was not detailed on the VRBO listing but was listed on the Sykes listing (see the comparison of the two listings on each website.
The Host seemed to sympathise with me. She said she would phone Manor Cottages immediately to get this resolved.:
I contacted Sykes Holidays for the first time.
I got through to a customer relations agent who looked at both websites and agreed with what I was saying. I informed her that I had spoken to the owner and she would email Manor Cottages and asked me to call them as well.
After multiple calls and emails the final response was my appeal would not be upheld
One of the comments was as follows:
Unfortunately, a refund will not be offered if you decide to cancel this booking. The property should of been checked that it was suitable before booking as it does clearly state on our website it is a ground floor bathroom.
This is false for the VRBO website; check for yourselves.
One of the comments made by the "Customer Services" team at Sykes was ", Three colleagues, and I checked the VRBO website, and even though it doesn't state the bathroom is on the ground floor, if you look at the picture really closely, you can see a fence through the window!
Embarrassing
Will never use VRBO or Sykes again.
Woeful

The village is very relaxing and quaint. With some lovely local pubs accessible by car or cross country walks!
