About this property

Sparkford Hall - Manor house sleeping 36 guests for large gatherings and parties

Your Own Private Country House in the Heart of Somerset

Escape to Sparkford Hall, a wonderfully individual Georgian country house where grand proportions meet the relaxed atmosphere of a much-loved family home. Set within its own secluded grounds in the beautiful Somerset countryside, the Hall is exclusively yours for the duration of your stay – giving family and friends the freedom to eat, drink, celebrate and simply enjoy being together in complete privacy.

With 15 individually styled bedrooms across the main house and adjoining Garden Cottage, Sparkford Hall is made for large gatherings. Inside, you'll find generous reception rooms, a cosy library with open fire, a large country kitchen and plenty of space for everyone to come together without ever feeling crowded. This isn't a pristine, corporate hotel: it's an atmospheric historic house, full of character, individuality and the occasional eccentric touch.

And there is plenty to do without ever leaving the estate. Spend summer afternoons beside the outdoor swimming pool, unwind in the hot tub or sauna, challenge friends in the games and cinema room, or simply find a quiet corner of the gardens with a book and a glass of wine. When evening arrives, the house really comes into its own – including its own private underground cellar club for those who want the celebrations to continue into the night.

Outside, expansive private grounds include lawns, mature trees, an orchard and beautiful walled garden, with plenty of room for children and dogs to explore. Despite the wonderfully secluded setting, Sparkford Hall is easily accessible and perfectly placed for exploring Somerset, with Bruton, Frome, Glastonbury, Wells and some of the West Country's finest countryside within easy reach.

Whether you're planning a milestone birthday, family reunion, anniversary, group holiday or simply an unforgettable weekend away with friends, Sparkford Hall offers something increasingly difficult to find: a substantial country estate that becomes genuinely yours for the stay. Come with the people you love, close the gates behind you, and make yourselves at home.

Great place in need of some loving care

Great property on lovely grounds, just a shame is house is in need of freshening up. It’s all starting to look a little run down and grubby. The beds and grounds were great fantastic.
