Historical Churchtown House - Whole House

Summary:

Stunning Grade II Listed 17th Century Rectory with spectacular sea views. Churchtown House is a true jewel on the southern Cornwall coast. An immaculately designed home surrounded by a walled garden with great furnishings and original features. The whole house holds up to 15 people and allows plenty of space to relax and entertain. This is a family home that is as welcoming as much as it is calming. The beach is a stones throw from the house and you'll never want to leave!



The Space:

This is a house with incredible history. The walk to the beach is a mere 5 minutes and the pub only a 1 minute walk away! Churchtown House has a magnificent energy and will feel like a home away from home. Recently renovated with much loving care, you'll be surrounded with comfort, stunning artwork and premium fixtures. Two open fires in the main house and a log burner in the Annex give a very cosy feel to the winters and a large walled garden allows for relaxing and great play areas for kids in the spring and summer. The Patio areas all have the perfect view of the sea for those early morning coffees and afternoon teas.



Guest Access:

This is a great house for children, but we do not have a stair gate on the stairs. We can provide a travel cot and highchair.



The Neighborhood:

Perranuthnoe is a small village on the south coast of Cornwall. It does have a great little shopping area on the way to the beach with a cafe and there is another cafe at the top of the beach access that has amazing food and the best hot chocolates around!



Getting Around:

While access to Perranuthnoe is easy by train into Penzance, it is good to have a car so that you can visit the numerous sites around Cornwall!



Other Things to Note:

There is parking in the courtyard, but we suggest that you park on the street in front of the house.

Beautiful house inside and out

I stayed here for a long weekend with a group of friends and we were blown away by the property. The pictures looked lovely but they don't do justice how clean, cosy and huge the property is. We found the kitchen and house in general to be well equipped and great for a group.

Fabulous stay

We had a fantastic few days at this gorgeous property in the lovely village of Perranuthnoe. The house is ideally located, very comfortable and well equipped. The garden overlooks the bay and is beautifully kept. Would love to return.

Fabulous family stay

Our stay here was perfect. We were 10 adults, and 5 children, 4 and under and we had so much room. The outside lawns were as lovely and unexpected as the inside. The village is small but had everything you could want, including spectacular view. It was a family holiday to remember, thank you so much

Great place. Communication wasn’t the easiest and was quite punchy at times with multiple instructions, which considering the cost, was somewhat disappointing. Regardless; lovely place to stay and would visit again (this was our 2nd time). Thanks!

We were so lucky to be able to rent this house. It was charming, clean, roomy, and cozy at the same time. The house is very private, with stone walls and wonderful plantings, next to the the churchyard.The town is very picturerest, overlooking the ocean with three restaurants (all wonderful) within walking distance of the house. Fortunately, the village is small and not commercial as tourists haven't found it yet. Which is just what we wanted. But it is just a short drive to many of the attractions Cornwall has to offer.If you are fortunate enough to be able to rent this wonderful house please don't hesitate. You will be glad you did.

Amazing place to stay.

Wonderful house with everything immaculate and high quality. Gorgeous garden with views which was the perfect setting for family photographs. The location couldn’t have been better with the beach, great gastropub, cafes and gallery all within a short waking distance.

Special place for a family celebration

The house and gardens were beautiful and perfect for a large family week away (we hired the house and annex together). A short walk to the beach meant and longer walks along the coastal path meant it suited all of our party. The views from the house and gardens also meant that it was a lovely place to relax in even if you didn’t want to leave the house. We would love to return one day.

Amazing home, garden and location

We booked Churchtown House in 2019 for our first family holiday in many years - our family being in the north and south west of England and the USA. We weren't able to meet up in August 2020 as planned because of the pandemic, but Kathleen allowed us to defer our booking until August 2021. We cannot speak highly enough of Kathleen's understanding and her beautiful home. It was absolutely perfect for our family, with room for everyone to have their own space and to be together when they wanted to be. The garden is stunning and we enjoyed having room to play and making use of the patios with breathtaking views.

Amazing week at Churchtown House

Fabulous house and garden with views of the sea. The decor and facilities in the house are outstanding, none of us were ready to leave after our weeks stay. We were lucky to have blue skies every day so spent a lot of time in the garden and at the nearby beach.

Lovely property

Great stay at Chuchtown House. Worked perfectly for four families with 15 people. House was well stocked and felt like home from home. Local pub is very good too! Thank you.

David, Thank you for your feedback. I have to take the feedback from my cleaners on reviews as I know not at the house. I appreciate that rubbish is an issue, especially if previous tenants do not put the rubbish out. Unfortuntaely, my cleaners will not remove rubbish, which is a challenge. I've attempted to change the review, however the website will not let me. I hope you enjoyed your stay and wish you a very Happy New Year, and my apologies for the rubbish./recycling issues. Kathleen
