About the host
Your host
Hillhouse was built in 1780 by the McKerrell family who owned the land for over 300 years. The Thorneycroft Vernon family bought the house in 1903, adding the East wing which doubled the size of the house. Over the last 12 years the house has been lovingly and sympathetically restored by the Vernon family to allow us to offer 5 star accommodation and service to our guests while they enjoy the history and ambience of the house along with its modern conveniences.
Why they chose this property
Hillhouse is the prefect base for enjoying all that the beautiful West Coast of Scotland as to offer, from world famous golf courses and tourist attractions to fabulous local cuisine and hospitality.
What makes this property unique
The period features and grand yet comfortable surroundings are offered with complete privacy on our gated estate, the perfect place to relax and perhaps celebrate a special occasion while being looked after by our highly trained team.
