Town: Moreton, a tranquil village that sits just 8 miles east of the County town of Dorchester, most famous for it’s association with the celebrated soldier, writer and pioneering archaeologist T.E.Lawrence, or as he is better know as Lawrence of Arabia. He settled in the village in a cottage called Cloud’s Hill and now owned by the National Trust. While living here he struck up a relationship with Louisa Frampton and some of their letters can be seen in the Moreton Tea rooms. Moreton sits just 8 miles from the County town of Dorchester where you can find Thomas Hardy’s Former home and cottage, as well as many cafes and restaurants and other high street amenities you require.
