Mas Riera is a typical Catalan country house, dated since the XVIIIc. It was carefully restored by their owners, preserving all its charming atmosphere but carefully equipped with any present day comfort.

It is well situated on Maià de Montcal (Girona) county, among the Empordà and Garrotxa areas. The country house is located in a little neighbourhood called "La Riera". In this natural and quiet place, you will enjoy the peaceful atmosphere at the same time as you discover its possibilities. An interesting choice to spend some days with your family or your friends.

Mas Riera is organized in two different apartments (Riera I and Riera II) both fully equipped. The house is surrounded by natural and quiet sceneries: a clear water river, a romanic style bridge and different ancient houses.
It has a swimming pool and covered barbecue, these spaces are shared with the other accommodation.
In the same set of houses is the manor house from the 13th century, it is where the family that owns it has lived since time immemorial, and we are the ones who will assist you when you arrive and in everything we can help you with.

Historical and cozy farmhouse at Costa Brava

Excellent choice for our family of 5 adults and two kids. The house is a newer addition to a century old farmhouse. Very functional, clean and comfortable. The host Dolors is an adorable person and made us feel right at home, even gave us a basket with fresh eggs from her chickens. The house is located at short drive from Figueres and Besalu. Highly recommended.

séjour mitigé

la maison le jardin et la piscine sont agréables et bien entretenus mais attention il n'est pas indiqué dans l'annonce d'abritel que le gîte est accolé à la maison des propriétaires, leurs enfants et un autre gîte avec lequel il faut partager l'espace jeux enfants barbecue et piscine(plage horaire 10h-21h), chaleur étouffante à l'étage pas de clim (ventilos au plafond), attention aussi porcherie dans les environs qui amène des odeurs désagréables quasiment tous les soirs, équipement de la cuisine un peu limité (pas de plat à tartes pour le four)

Un séjour paisible dans la campagne catalane

La finca est belle, ancienne, grande et hyper confortable, tres fraiche malgré les 35° extérieurs, en pleine campagne malgré la route proche et les fermes alentours. Nous y avons passé des jours paisibles, profitant de la piscine, découvrant les beaux villages médiévaux de la région et passant de douces soirées sous les muriers-platanes. Les hôtes, Dolors et Climents, sont d'une gentillesse et d'une délicatesse que nous ne sommes pas prêts d'oublier.

Super posiadłość z niesamowitą historią i wspaniałymi gospodarzami

Spędziliśmy całe 2 tygodnie w posiadłości Rodziny Riera. Byliśmy z trójką dzieci w wieku 5(x2) i 8 lat. Wszyscy jesteśmy bardzo zadowoleni z pobytu: dzieci mogły bawić się i dokarmiać przebywające na farmie zwierzęta (kury, pawie, koty), my planowaliśmy kolejne lokalizacje wokół farmy warte odwiedzenia. Wysokie temperatury panujące podczas naszego pobytu neutralizowaliśmy korzystając z basenu, który ma część płytszą (dla dzieci) o głębokości ok 1m, oraz część głębszą na około 1,5m - dla nas w zupełności wystarczało by móc relaksować się w basenie. Maià de Montcal to dobra lokalizacja by zwiedzić północną część Hiszpani oraz skorzystać i odwiedzić Perpignan czy Carcassonne we Francji, czy też przy odrobinie determinacji Andorę (trasa dość długa - na około 3godziny w każdą ze stron, natomiast swoim pięknem rekompensująca długość podróży - przeprawa przez Pireneje robi naprawdę niesamowite wrażenie!). Dom w którym się zatrzymaliśmy jest w pełni umeblowany i ma wszystko czego trzeba by być samowystarczalnym nawet na dłuższe pobyty. Państwo Riera BARDZO sympatyczni i skorzy do pomocy i udzielenia rad dotyczących regionu i miejsc wartych odwiedzenia, czy też restauracji gdzie można się stołować. Mieliśmy przyjemność bycia oprowadzonym po prywatnej części domu, który to jest w rękach Rodziny od 1200 roku! Naprawdę niesamowita historia i prawdziwe artefakty wewnątrz! Magiczne miejsce warte odwiedzenia zarówno na krótkie jak i długie pobyty. Serdecznie polecamy i dziękujemy za gościnność Właścicielom!

Notre séjour fut merveilleux dans un cadre très joli, nature et paisible. L'accueil des propriétaires étaient très chaleureux. Nous avons même eu des légumes du potager et des oeufs du poulailler. La maison était très bien entretenue et fraîche. La piscine très propre et agréable. Un cadre serein et idéal pour des vacances familiales. Nous reviendrons sans hésitation !

Una estancia muy bonita!

Nuestra experiencia en Más Riera ha sido inmejorable! Un lugar con mucho encanto, la casa impecable y muy bien equipada. Hemos podido disfrutar del jardín y de la piscina con los niños. La ubicación permite llegar con facilidad y muy rápidamente en Besalú, Banyoles, en el Parque de la Garrotxa. Dolors, la anfitriona es muy amable y simpática.

Toller Urlaub auf wunderschönem Anwesen

Alles in allem hatten wir, 4 Erwachsene und 4 Kinder, einen tollen Aufenthalt in Mas riera. Die Vermieter, die im Nebengebäude leben, waren sehr nett, hilfsbereit und auskunftsfreudig. Wir wurden sogar mit Eiern und Tomaten aus dem eigenen Garten versorgt. Das Anwesen liegt auf dem Land, ist sehr gepflegt und großzügig. Es bietet viel Abwechslung auf dem Gelände: einen BBQ Grill, einen schönen (abschließbaren) Pool, Schaukeln, Tischtennisplatte, Badmintonschläger, Tiere wie Esel, Hühner, Katzen. Allerdings teilt man sich all dies mit anderen Mietern der 2. Ferienwohnung auf dem Gelände. Privatsphäre ist trotzdem ausreichend vorhanden. Schade für unsere Kinder war, dass der Pool nicht vor 10 Uhr und nach 21 Uhr benutzt werden durfte. Die Möbel im Inneren waren passend zum Haus, eher rustikal-antik. Die Matratzen waren für uns leider z.T. zu hart und damit etwas unbequem. Da es keine Klimaanlage gibt, war es nachts entsprechend warm, bei Tagestemperaturen von bis zu 40 Grad. Die Küche war sehr gut ausgestattet, es fehlte allerdings an Stellfläche in den Schränken, um den Einkauf unterzubringen. Lebensmittel einkaufen konnte man im 10 min entfernten Besalu (gut ausgestatteter Spar). Je nach Strandlage oder Ausflugsziel an der Costa Brava benötigt man ca 45 bis 90 min Anfahrt mit dem Auto. Wen das nicht stört, wird tolle Ferien in Mas Riera verbringen! Wir haben es sehr genossen, unseren Urlaub auf dem Land im urigen katalanischen Hinterland zu verbringen. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Wonderful!

We are a family group of three generations. From the moment we arrived we knew it would be a lovely base for a family holiday. The house is located in a beautiful, peaceful garden in the countryside, amidst fields and woodland. The ancient house is comfortable and clean, furnished with attention and taste to modern standards. We enjoyed the swimming pool, the birdsong and the pingpong matches! Our hosts were, and are, exceptional! They were immensely kind and helpful during our stay and we very much appreciated their willingness to share the history of Mas Riera with us. Climent and Dolors, together with their family, extended a warm welcome to us and we felt very lucky to experience true Catalan hospitality. This is a unique place to stay...go, you will not regret it!

Espectacular!!

Espectacular el entorno, la casa, la propietaria...todo!!! hemos estado el puente de diciembre dos familias en la casa Riera 2 y es perfecta, la casa tiene tres habitaciones amplias, cocina-comedor muy espacioso, dos baños y todo estaba perfecto, las camas muy cómodas, menaje muy completo, hemos estado fenomenal!!! El entorno es precioso, cerca de Besalu, se pueden dar estupendos paseos desde la misma casa, dispone de un amplio jardín para estar tranquilos,...La propietaria, Dolors, es encantadora y hace que todo sea perfecto. Recomiendo gratamente esta casa rural si quieres conocer esta parte de la garrotxa.

COMO EN CASA!!!

Hemos pasado unos días en Mas Riera durante la primera semana de Septiembre y todo ha sido PERFECTO. Los dueños de la casa son muy agradables y siempre atentos con lo que necesitas, la casa estupenda, preciosa, decorada con mucho gusto y sobretodo con cariño, muy limpia, las camas súper cómodas y un equipamiento más que suficiente. En fin, es uno de los sitios que agradeces estar y a los que sin duda vuelves. Gracias Dolors y Climent por vuestra amabilidad. Hasta pronto!

Alloggi dotati di tutto all'interno di uno splendido edificio in pietra

Abbiamo preso 2 alloggi. L'accoglienza della proprietaria è stata calda e molto cortese. Gli alloggi sono splendidi, dotati di tutto, realizzati di recente ristrutturando gli interni di un bell'edificio in pietra. L'ambiente circostante è idilliaco come magnifico è il panorama verso le montagne. Possibile mangiare all'aperto nel bel giardino, dotato di forno per grigliata. Posizione ottima per visitare la vicina splendida Besalù, Figueres, il parco geologico di Garrotxa e le belle montagne dalla zona. La statale è molto vicina ma assolutamente invisibile dagli alloggi immersi nel silenzio. Assolutamente da consigliare.
