About this property

Off grid tranquillity with beautiful views and no other house in sight

Dramatic sustainable house designed for his own dwelling and holiday rental by Philip Boorman who has many awards for his outstanding Architectural work and furniture designs.

Located on the escarpment in the centre of the 125 acre site. This privileged isolation has allowed the house design to be opened to the expansive surrounding valley and mountains by the extensive use of timber framed bi-fold doors and windows. Solar panels generate the power supply and roof water is collected in tanks for filtered reuse within the home.

The Lodge is located 3 mins to the mountain village of Mapleton and:
10 mins to the vibrant village of Montville
30 mins to the world famous Eumundi Markets
30 mins to the beaches of the Sunshine Coast - Coolum Beach, Maroochydore, Alexandra Headlands and Mooloolaba
40 mins to Noosa
1.5 hrs to the north of Brisbane

We had a great stay at this well designed house. It was very clean, comfortable & exactly as described in the listing. It had stunning sunset views from the side of the house. No ceiling fans in the bedrooms, but did have pedestal fans available. Wifi very minimal.We’d definitely recommend this house and would stay again.

The lodge is our favourite holiday accommodation in all of the world! Surrounded by forest and with wonderful views of the Obi Obi valley and not another house in sight. We really love the drive down through the bush on our own private road to reach this private, off-grid, peaceful refuge. Mary and Warwick are perfect hosts and ensure that everything is just right. My husband and I love this property so peaceful with stunning views of the Obi ObI Valley. I am from UK coming as a fiancee for the first time to Australia in 1987, to have a exciting adventure in this Great Southland. My husband is from PNG born of missionary parents. We met in Israel working on a kibbutz back in 1985. My husband has worked in horticulture all his life and he is most interested in native plants endemic to the area. Many birds visit, a red browed finch got caught behind a painting in the lounge room the other day at the lodge. The lodge has been a part of his work for 20 years. We took over managing the lodge this year as Michael and Robyn retired after 17 years

Why they chose this property

The 1km driveway is part of the Great Walks with a track down to Baxter's Falls. It takes you into another world. A wonderful escape from city life! Turn off your phones and devices and drink it in.

What makes this property unique

The property is most unique with no other homes in view you are in the beautiful bush, which the house is a part of. It is an exceptional design that has a wonderful outdoor feel as you open the bi-fold windows and doors and take in the scenery.
