Welcome to Pompoota Homestead, situated on the banks of the mighty River Murray near Mannum, just an hour's drive from Adelaide. The homestead is perfect for that special occasion with family and friends, with 5 acres of billabong, birdlife and river frontage.

Best of both worlds - relax, bird-watching, kayaking, & fishing, or enjoy the river and all it has to offer. With your own Billabong, footbridge to the river front with boat ramp and your own private beach.

The all-round verandah, sweeping lawns, 4-burner BBQ, and loads of outdoor furniture, you'll be proud to entertain your family & friends here!

So come and enjoy a quiet part of the River Murray with no neighbours nearby!

The large homestead sleeps 16, and has a fully equipped modern kitchen, large dining area with a dining table that seats 14, 2 separate living areas, 2 bathrooms, 3 toilets and 4 bedrooms.

Pompoota Homestead was absolutely amazing. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could possibly need, making it so easy to settle in and feel at home. Right from the beginning, the host was incredibly responsive. The house itself was so well stocked and well organized. I think it’s the cleanest house we’ve ever stayed in. The amenities were amazing. The living areas were large and roomy. The outside was immaculately kept. The views of the river was stunning. We highly recommend this property and will definitely be returning.

The beautiful location & homestead which was thoughtfully appointed. Generous quantity of crockery, cutlery, cookware etc in excellent condition. Nothing stingy here. There’s just so much on offer. Grandkids were exhausted after each fun packed day, as were adults. The host was very welcoming. Really the perfect family holiday. Congratulations Shirley & David.

Family weekend and birthdays celebration

Fantastic weekend staying at Pompoota Homestead - the house is so comfortable and makes it easy to have a large crowd. Loads of space for people to spread out and gorgeous setting with green lawns, big trees, easy access to the river, private yet open, and beautiful views over the lagoon and river. Family bi-annual get together

Lovely house to be in. Suitable for all ages. We have previously used houseboats but now too many for 1 boat so tried your home and all agreed it was excellent. We have been doing this for 24 years so it was a big change. So close to Monato so very happy. Thank you, we will be back

A week at Pompoota

Top notch, the property has been lovingly restored and in perfect condition for a large group or several families. We even managed to rid the billabong of a few nasty big carp but heavy fishing tackle is required due to the size and weight of the horrors. In earlier times we would have used the boat ramp and had a ski but there is now more runway behind us than in front! thanks Peter and Di.

Pompoota exceeded all expectations, and was even more perfect than we imagined. Immaculately clean, truly a home away from home. Solid, spacious, well air-conditioned in hot weather, beautiful lawns and shaded areas, everything we could possibly require in kitchen for meal prep, an extra fridge and freezer made catering for extended stays easy. We adored the very private location, a true getaway. We holidayed in summer but think it would be just as wonderful to hide away in winter. If you value privacy and comfort, Pompoota is for you. Shirley was a perfect host, with all communication promptly answered.
