My partner and I had a wonderful getaway. Very nice accommodation and very quiet area.
Located super close to the amazing mill market and just a 20 minute walk into town, everything is easily accessible.
Texada was just perfect for the getaway we were after. Walking distance to so many lovely spots, and 2min drive from the town centre and the pub for dinner. The accommodation was beatiful and cosy. We will definitely recommend to others.
Loved our stay! The only grimaces we had were the bed wasn’t properly made on arrival & there was sand in the clothes iron provided, but only minor things. We would love to stay again!

Hi Bella, thank you for your comments!
We've tried to reach out to you to find out more information about the bed comment but we haven't heard back. We're wondering what you encountered and how we can do better. As for the iron...it seems someone put sand in the iron! Very strange behaviour but we've ordered a new one. We appreciate you letting us know!
We look forward to hosting you again! All the best, Cherie
My partner and I were looking for an out of the way place where we could rest before start the new year running. The property we stayed in gave us the privacy and peace we needed to recoup from a hectic year and concentrate on ourselves. Situated in beautiful central Victoria, the location gave us a chance to explore this magnificent state and visit area we would otherwise avoid.
Communication between myself and host was fantastic. Property was cute but could do with some improvements. Complimentary drinks were not provided and was told it wasnt a special occasion. If you dont mind possums banging on the roof nightly you will be ok. The town surrounding the property is behind in the times but overall it was very relaxing.

Hi Teena, thanks for your review! Apologies for the miscommunication regarding the wine. But we did get it to you, just not upon arrival as it should be. We'll do better. As for improvements for our place and the town...specifics would be helpful! Good to hear it was relaxing, that's what we aim for! All the best and we hope to see you again. Cherie
The property is close to town centre and overall good. With little upgrades it can easily become great. The roof is made of metal sheets and birds over night are disturbing. This can be easily fix with some birds spikes from bunnings. It would also be great if the TV s will have chromcast or apple TV or wifi.

Thank you for your review Lior. We love and value guest feedback on how we can make improvements for future guests. However, we do need to point out that we offer free wifi.
Kind regards,
Cherie
Communication with the property managers was prompt and helpful. The space itself was on the smaller side but still very functional, it is fitted out with heaters and electric blankets so staying warm wasn’t an issue, the location is good and we followed recommendations from the owners to take a nearby trail which made for a really nice walk in nature while exploring local history, would definitely recommend. The hot tub was also probably the main selling point to this accomodation and it did not let us down as it was constantly hot and ready to go.
The downsides to the stay were very minimal but I will write to inform future visitors + the owners: the kitchen isn’t exactly made for cooking but does have all the necessary accessories to prepare basic food, I will suggest bringing a bread knife if thats your thing, we picked up a special loaf from the Sunday Market and struggled with the knives at the house. We also found it wasn't as private as we expected when initially booking, the owners did inform us that the property has two other cottages, and although they are pretty far apart, the trees surrounding the hot tub where we stayed are deciduous so there were no leaves on them during our stay and we could easily see others around and they could see us if used during the day, there isn’t really fencing separating the property either, at one point there was a dog in out backyard area while we in the hot tub.
The booking also said there would be drinks on arrival but there was not. I didn’t follow any of these up with the owners during the stay as we were quite busy coming in and out to explore the local area, again not major issues, but potentially some things that could be done better in the future. Overall great stay, and would recommend it to anyone staying in Daylesford for a few days.

Thank you for your review Rebecca.
As advertised, Texada only has a kitchenette and only has basic cooking facilities but has everything you need to make meals. FYI: our other properties have full kitchens. I understand how it would feel to use a bread knife that isn't up to the task, we will look to getting a new one. The villas on the property are 75 metres from you, and even though the trees are deciduous, people would have to be awfully close to see you in the hot tub again. This didn't actually occur in your situation as you stated, 'if used during the day'. The dog was certainly a random thing and most likely a neighbour. As we have never heard of this happening before, we hope it doesn't happen again! The manager apologizes for forgetting the wine and would have happily brought one to you as she's only 5 minutes away. Unfortunately you didn't call her. We are committed to excellent service and would have loved the opportunity to correct this mistake if we had known. All the best, Cherie
Had no problems or complaints about staying at this property. Clean house with everything we needed already there, and had a very warm clean hot tub. Would definitely go back.
We had a great time staying at Texada Art Retreat, we ended up forgoing visiting the hot springs because we were having such a good time relaxing in the hot tub at the property!
After a stressful few weeks working, this was just what we needed to unwind. Would highly recommend the property - close to everything you need in town, very clean and easy to find/check in.
We hope to stay again!
Hot tub was perfect, easy to access and well screened for privacy. Outdoor area small but nicely decorated and very inviting. Loved the view from the windows - trees, plants and birds. A very enjoyable and relaxing weekend, thank you 💚
Wanted to have a relaxing and unwind few days post COVID, Christmas and new year busy.
This was easy to book online and the property manager was quick in reply to any questions I had before we left.
Would definitely recommend this property if all you want to do is relax and unwind.
great location and ideal for a break outside summer, no air conditioning nor an AM Radio to listen for weather alerts make this place a good place to avoid in summer

Hi Mick, Sorry for the delay in replying to your review. Stayz is relatively new to guest reviews. They do not notify us of the appearance of new reviews. Upon checking your booking and the weather at that time; you stayed in Daylesford in a relatively hot time of year. We do not have air conditioning and do not advertise our property as such. Although many do not agree we cannot support air conditioning as it has a detrimental environmental effect. For this reason we choose to cool Texada via a combination of cooling fans and shade sails as advertised clearly. The TV in Texada has access to all radio channels available including the ABC for bush fire alerts. For future reference Texada has a hot tub which can easily be cooled down to double as a plunge pool during hot weather.

Disappointed
Is a very clean little place but was very disappointed as the discription of this property is false. It does not back on to wombat state forest it backs onto someone back yard ( forest can be seen if you climb a tree and look a kilometre into the distance. The large plasma tv is not large at all is only the size of tv you would have on kitchen bench and gate leading to private back yard is broken and can't be used. After calling owner to complain that there was no drinks on arrival as promised plus all the other list of things wrong I was told they don't have a maintence man so pretty much bad luck and if look in the distance you can see forest. Was really excited for this little get away with my husband and new born baby but left feeling disappointed and stooged.

Hi Kristy, We apologize for the very late reply to your review. Stayz is relatively new with guest reviews and does not notify us of there publishing. We do recall that you rang us to query the absence of your complimentary drinks. As you recall we apologized as this was an administrative booking error on our part. As you recall our manager arrived within 5 minutes with the drinks in question. As to the other issues you raised. You stayed in summer. Texada is located in a plum orchard;as advertised. In summer it is surrounded by foliage. It is very private and secluded because of it. As you can see by the photos in our advertisement and on our website the views to the forest are significant in winter. The forest starts approximately 150 metres from Texada. During your stay the gate in question did not open. As you aware, and shown, you could access the back garden easily from the other direction. Unfortunately when we had our covered shade sail area erected(by someone else as we were traveling at the time) the post was put in poorly and blocked the gate! It has long since been re mediated. We own, maintain and build our own property. It is maintained in a very methodical and thorough manner. We do not recall suggesting we have no maintenance. Our attitude is definitely not `bad luck`with our guests. We listen to guest issues and respond to them promptly and comprehensively as we did with you. We`re sorry you feel ``stooged``. We feel our property is fairly advertised.
