Unique holiday home on a sheltered bay with uninterrupted view of Karri trees.
Blue Poles is a blue corrugated iron, fully furnished house. The giant wooden poles of Western Australian jarrah were salvaged from Albany's historic deepwater jetty. This combination gives the house its name.
There are 3 large and one single bedrooms - a master bedroom and bathroom upstairs and two large bedrooms and a single (plus extra trundle bed) and bathroom downstairs sleep a total of ten people. There is a separate laundry.
The modern kitchen upstairs adjoins a huge living space that flows out onto a large veranda overlooking a unique stand of coastal karri trees.
The house has reverse cycle air conditioning upstairs and the living area features comfortable leather seating and tv.
There is undercover parking for two cars and a large driveway area suitable for parking a boat or van.
The cost quoted is based on 4 people (see tariff). Extra people incur an additional cost per head. Minimum stay 3 nights.
We built Blue Poles so that when our family and friends were all in the same place at the same time, we would have a lovely, spacious, easy to manage place where we could enjoy each others company.
We hope you will be able to do the same.

Beautiful big house, perfect for a large family or group to stay in. The owners were very helpful when messaging them. Highly recommend this property and can't wait to stay here again!
Everything you could need. Beds comfy, enough couches for everyone (which is rare). The huge balcony is amazing for family dinners. Great water pressure in the showers. We really enjoyed our stay. Thanks
Nice location close to a boat ramp. Comfortable house to relax after a day out. There isn't a smart tv, so if the kid's need more then free tv, you'll have to bring something along to appease them. For us it didn't matter to much, it got them doing other things.Overall, a great location if you're going for the whale station and national park attractions.
Good location as we wanted to explore Bald Head area. Only one general store nearby. Need to drive to everything, nothing nearby within walking distance. All aspects of the house excellent, the balcony overlooking the gum trees with many birds a highlight.
Great location, fantastic and spacious property with a great view through the trees into the bay. Quiet spot but close to Albany and to the great touristy places near the Blow Hole etc and the national park.
What a magnificent place to stay.. Beautiful views, lovely large balcony to enjoy it from..
Colour and cheerful decor, plenty of room to enjoy with all...
Fantastic communication with owners throughout the booking...
Highly recommend for your holiday stay in Albany..
Thank you 😊
We definitely enjoyed staying at the Blue Poles. The house was very well equipped, spacious and welcoming. Its location was just fantastic, being a short drive to Albany and to the start of many hiking trails. We would not hesitate to book it again.
Great property, beautiful location, well appointed house. suited all our requirements. Booking process and hosts very helpful. We'll come back one day!
The house was comfortable for the 3 adult couples in our group with a big A/C that provided plenty of warmth.
The location is about 11km out of town but not really a problem. There is a General Store about 1km away which also sells fuel and alcohol.
The 3 main bedrooms are large with comfortable Q/S beds.
One minor issue is the soap provided does not lather very well ( hard water?) and if soap is provided then shampoo would be handy.
Also, the house information does not specify the check out time.
Thanks for a great stay, we loved our time at Blue Poles. The whole family came along to help celebrate my birthday and there was plenty of room for us all, as well as our dog who, once he mastered the stairs(!) had an absolute ball.
Location was great, easy to get to and it was fantastic sitting out on the balcony morning and night listening to the birds & enjoying our (adult!) kids playing footy in the park - who says no wifi is a bad thing?! Would definitely recommend if you have a large group wanting to spend quality time together in a beautiful spot, hosts were quick to respond to any queries also.
Great however because it was so far from the city centre it was a problem because the TV didn’t work (actually unacceptably) and the sailing club ( the only place to go) wasn’t own for food or to watch the footy.
Dog friendly but no fenced area for the dogs so actually not dog friendly.
