Welcome to Paws n Relax by KEES Vacations!

Spend your visit on the Outer Banks in serenity at Paws n Relax, formerly known as "A Pinch of Salt". When you're not enjoying the short walk to the sandy beach, this spacious and pet-friendly home will provide you and your family a comfortable getaway from hustle and bustle while allowing convenient trips to the area's stores and restaurants.

Located between the highways, this three-level quieter Kitty Hawk home has gorgeous ocean views and numerous decks to enjoy them. Enjoy your morning coffee or afternoon cocktail as you watch waves roll in and out again and in and out again.

In true Outer Banks beach house fashion, Paws n Relax is an upside-down house. There are 3 bedrooms, one a King En Suite, one a two Twin bedroom, and one with a twin over twin pyramid bunk bed on the second level. On the third level you will find the second King En Suite bedroom, as well as the airy living area with plenty of comfortable furniture positioned to take full advantage of the beautiful views. Everyone can enjoy a meal together at the dining room table while glimpsing at the stunning waters of the Atlantic. In the main living area, a brand-new love seat and couch are there for your comfort as they sit on stylish new flooring across the whole top level. The cook's favorite feature on this level will be the open kitchen, which includes additional seating at its island bar. Sliding doors across the back wall and plentiful windows allow natural light to encompass the great room, providing a great view from all angles. Step out onto the deck and enjoy the sights and sounds of Kitty Hawk!

If you're not playing on the beach, make a splash in the private pool on the ground level! The backyard deck space offers a great place to grill out. End the day by relaxing in the hot tub, reconnecting and enjoying the simple pleasures of being together. An amazing vacation is waiting for you at Paws n Relax.

This property has 4 parking spots for guests.

**Private unheated pools will open on April 16th and close on October 1st. Hot Tubs are available year-round. Pools and hot tubs are cleaned weekly and no later than 6pm on check-in day. Vendors are subject to enter backyard to clean the pool and/or spa on scheduled cleaning days. No pets allowed in pools.**

**Paws n Relax is pet-friendly, so there is no need to leave your pooch at home! For a small one-time fee of $185, you can bring up to two dogs to our pet-friendly property. No cats or other animals, dogs only.**

Check-In begins at 4pm. Your keyless entry code will begin granting access at this time.
Check-Out is 10am.

Great Location

This house is a great location. It was so close to beach and the pool was perfect for the kids to swim in the evening. It was a great size for my family of 7. The only thing was that check-in was at 4 and the cleaning people were still there at 430.

Family vacation 2023

Our family meets up every two years to enjoy time together. We love the OBX. This house was very clean, close to the beach, and perfect for the three families to enjoy together. Pet friendly, good house flow to rooms. Pool and hot tub were welcoming when we were not at the beach. Would definitely consider staying here again in 2 years!

Great house / location

The house was great - perfect location! The pool was better than expected (it had been very hot and we were expecting the pool to be too warm but the house shades it nicely). The only issue was the cleanliness - all surfaces were sticky and in the kitchen there were crumbs and the cabinet door handles looked like someone with jam or barbecue sauce had smudged them. we bought cleaning supplies and took care of it. Other than that, the house was great.

OBX newbies

When booking a family vacation to somewhere you’ve never been can be hard. We got very lucky with this homes location, size, and function. Close to groceries, restaurants, ice cream, and easy to get to the beach. We would definitely recommend! Pros: pool (although a little sandy), hot tub, cozy beds, shower pressure, beach buggy provided, carport, and large open space to gather. Check in and check out was super easy. WiFi worked great. Happy they had Tupperware for leftovers. Cons: The utensil drawers and some dishes were a little dirty (we pre-washed everything we used), we saw 2 big bugs, and the grill was dirty with little-no propane.

Has Potential but needs work

This property has potential but it is not taken care of. The Kees staff is unhelpful. The place was dirty, the pool was only cleaned once and that was the day we arrived, the internet did not work all week and we had a major leak in the ceiling. Loved the location and would stay on the same street but not at a Kees property

Pros and cons to this property. This review is meant to help people that travel long distances and cannot bring all the amenities.Pros:- Property was very clean and cool upon arrival- Pool and hot tub are awesome for families traveling with teenagers- Great selection of kitchen utensils- Nice big table that seats 8 for dinner or games- Games and books were provided - Pool cleaner was awesome- Close to great beach with lifeguard- Propane was full in BBQCons:-A starter set of plastic trash bags means one (1), we didn't make it through first night without having to buy more bags because we cook and cut up lots of fruit-No BBQ gear for flipping burgers, etc. Had to go buy some and did not leave behind-The VRBO listing doesn't specify that you get one bath, and hand towel and wash cloth per person. A couple of extra towels would have been nice as most women use more that one when they shower and dry their hair-Beach towels would be nice, when traveling over 2500 miles to vacation it's not realistic to bring your own beach towels- The closets had extra pillows but no pillow cases- KEES states they will reply to emails and requests within 24 hours. My wife emailed with some requests and never got a response- The house technically sleeps 10 with all the beds but in the living room there was only seating for 5, suggest additional seating- Only 1 kitchen towel- CONS are economical fixesIf we go back to OBX would rent again be more educated

This includes information on the starter set of household items, towel counts, and beach gear, so guests can be well prepared. We appreciate your suggestions regarding extra towels, beach gear, and kitchen tools. While we provide a basic starter set, we are always looking for ways to improve our guest experience and will certainly take these notes into consideration for future enhancements. Mismanagement!!!

The property was fine! There were 4 remotes on the living room table and only one worked. So none of the bedrooms could we change tv channels without running back and forth. Called the rental company and told them that I guess the batteries were dead . They never brought batteries so the next day I bought them and that wasn’t the issue. Needless to say it took 3 days to get remotes and a lot of calling and texting but they never responded until 4:50 each time right before they closed so that we would have to wait. You don’t realize how important a simple remote is until you go on vacation and want to relax in the evenings and you can’t change the channel without figuring out who has the remote and going to get it. They mowed the lawn without giving a heads up about the windows being down in a vehicle and blew grass all inside my friends car. Pool people came and put a hose in the pool and left said she would be back with a vacuum and the pool overflowed and who knows how long it ran before I saw it. Called about the hot tub being cloudy and they didn’t come to fix it til the day we checked out. The house was fine but Kees management was awful and hard to get help from.

The location of the house was great! However the house needs a lot of updating and was not extremely clean. Also they did not have all the items you except in a rental, kitchen items, extra towels, amenities. The door code didn’t work til 10 after 4. The company did not answer calls or emails. Overall the location was great but disappointed in the service and house

The floors were COVERED in dirt. We vacuumed them on the 1st day since we had 2 babies running around and we had to empty the vacuum bag twice per floor.... very disappointed in the cleanliness of the house. Overall, the space was nice for what we needed for our family to fit comfortably.

Could have been worse I suppose.

The combination didn't work for the door until 20 minutes after check-in time, So I tried calling the property maintenance company and no one answered the phone- it just continued ringing. Eventually the combination worked. We were able to get into the house to find that it was very dirty. The furniture was gross and dirty. The mattresses had stains on them. For the amount of money that I paid for this rental I would have at least expected it cleaned. There were huge balls of pet hair drifting across the floor- the pet before ours must have had black fur lol. Other than that the location was great, the pool was wonderful and everything else worked as it should.

Review of Kitty Hawk property

I'm not one to send along bad reviews but I was moderately disappointed with our stay. The house was not entirely clean (specifically - lots of dust and the bedding had stains in some rooms). Additionally, the house needs to be repainted and is in need of a thorough deep clean as well as detailed walkthrough to fix small issues like missing lightbulbs. Both the passcode and wifi directions were incorrect. We never heard back from the property about the wifi after calling for assistance but they were responsive about the passcode. Everything else was fine but it didn't have the extra conveniences of a typical VRBO for that price (e.g. britta filter, basic cookware, etc.). It did not stop us from enjoying our stay but I would not rent this property again.
