Sandy Beach, Waterfront, 2 Full Cottages, Level Lot

Come vacation on the tranquil shores of Horseshoe Lake. Wonderful level lot. You will find two cottages side by side facing the lake and your private dock and beach. Together you will have 2 kitchens, 2 bathrooms, 2 living rooms and large dining rooms. One cottage is a 2 bedroom with a sunroom, newly renovated. It has a large bedroom (queen single) and a small bedroom (2 singles) all on the main floor. The other cottage has three bedrooms (queen, queen and a double) and it is a bungalow.

South-facing: You will have sun on the dock and the beach all day! You will find a great wading area then deep swimming, no weeds or mush. Good privacy on the dock, neighbours are far away. Quiet lake, Haliburton Forest and lovely loons calling! Boats: enjoy the lake on the kayak, canoe, stand up paddle board or paddle boat also kids' stand up paddle board and kayaks.

Google Reynolds Road, Minden for a look. We are near the three little islands.
Short ten minute drive to the town of Minden for groceries, shops, churches and restaurants (12 km drive). There is a dirt road, Reynolds Road, between the cottages and the lake. At the lake you will have your private dock, beach, and picnic area. 230 feet of shoreline for you to investigate or wade along in the shallow waters.

Friendly neighbourhood. Level driveway for easy parking. You can walk around lake or hike at the rapids on the south end of Horseshoe Lake. Good golfing at nearby Blairhampton Golf Course or Gull River Golf Course.

Wonderful lake spot nestled among ancient pines

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottages (2) are clean and accommodating for a few people or many, and there is a sandy beach, very clean lake water, access to boats, a fire pit, and a great view. Our hostess was just lovely. We’ll definitely go back.

Family Time

We stayed for a week with our two kids (2.5 years, 10 months), my sister and parents. Cottage was perfect - separate cabin for the grandparents, shallow water for wading, lots of boat options and reasonable roads for stroller walks. Rosemary was so friendly and welcoming we felt right at home. Hoping to come back next year!

Hosts are lovely and easy to deal with. Cottage is equipped with everything you need. Nice sandy area for walking into the water. Hubby was happy, caught a good size pike off the dock as well as a nice bass!

Great location and property

The cottage and lakeside cottage package was perfect for us. Both cottage were spotless and had pretty much eveything you need. Spectacular view of the lake and absolutely great for swimming and water activites. The big plus for us is that they allow dogs. As the description mentions, there is a small dirt road between the cottage and water but it was not a factor at all for us. Pretty much just people that live around the lake are driving on the road and they drive slowly and cautiously when they see people. Rosemary and her family are amazing to deal with, such a nice and caring family. They do live next door, which to us is a plus for us since if there is anything we need they take care of it right away. We can't wait to plan our week at this cottage again next summer.

Great family cottage

The grandkids loved the sandy shallow water entry. There is a great grassy play area. The only downside is the road between the cottage and the lake. It isn't a busy road but you to have to watch the kids. The cottage itself is older but completely fine. The living area is large with plenty of seating and a large dining table. The kitchen is well equipped with all the pots, bowls, knives, etc. that you will need. The one bed cabin is surprisingly large and it is right on the water. Large windows give you a great view of the lake and islands. Marshal and Rosemary are the best hosts you will find. Although they live right next door they are never intrusive. They are very helpful if you have a question or a request and they anticipate what you might need. In our case that was blocks and puzzles for the kids on a rainy day. It was greatly appreciated. For us this property checked all the boxes. Thanks for everything!

Great View

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage and bunkie. Waterfront was beautiful with kayaks, canoe, rowboat and paddle boat. We had no problem with the wifi. The owner had installed a wifi extender just before we arrived and all 6 of us were able to connect at the same time.

Our stay for the week was glorious! The property is perfect and is a gem find, ticking off an incredible variety of spaces in one rental. Clean and spacious kitchen and bath were the star feature of making this cottage/cabin ideal for family with 3 young adults. The owners thought of everything when stocking the cupboards. Two issues we encountered that really would have helped: ceiling fan in large room didn’t work and with no a/c this was tough; and wifi could only handle one devise connected and even then frequently dropped thus our eldest daughter couldn’t join us earlier and take a zoom work meeting from the cottage. In all: the property was terrific and location can’t be beat!

We live in Toronto and spend much of our summers on Horseshoe Lake

Why they chose this property

It is certainly a magical spot. There are two cottages side by side on the property. Each has its own waterfront and dock. The original cottage was built a hundred years ago and fully renovated a few years back. The best spots always go first and it is beautiful here. Friendly neighbours, who are welcoming of renters. Tolerant of rambunctious families but preferring loud music to be kept inside rather than on the dock. We come and go from the city of Toronto but usually are there to welcome you. Help is always around the corner if we are not there, we have good help in the close neighbours.

What makes this property unique

Minden is a true 10 minute drive away so if you need something from town, it’s not an epic journey. There is also a small hospital for any medical needs that might arise in the centre of town. While the months of September and October can be chilly, it’s still nice to go wading in the shallow water or to enjoy the boats. The fall months are also fantastic for the peace and quiet lovers.
