This is our second year at this property and it is great. It holds all of us and has a lot of outside space, and we love it!It is always clean and ready when we show up. Comfortable beds and lots of room.
We were visiting for a wedding. This was a very large home which provided plenty of space for 8 adults and 3 children. The children loved the kids books and toys that were available to play with. The kitchen was large enough for all of us plus a few more family members to join us! The Balsam Lake town was very cute with a few places close to get items needed. The house was well stocked with essentials which was very helpful! We found just a few things that we shared with the host who indicated they would work with their cleaners to improve. Overall, a wonderful stay!
Our family gathered for our son's wedding, and we celebrated the holidays together. Plenty of space for 12 of us, and much appreciated the availability of kitchen utensils, a few toys for the kids, and having a washer and dryer. Very nice clean property in a beautiful area!
We were here for our annual family vacation. It was a spacious home very well laid out. Roomy enough for all 14 of us. The lake access was great and we enjoyed lots of time on the lake and at the beach. We did morning walks into town and got coffee. It is a really cute town. We also did ice cream at a little shop in town. We enjoyed our stay very much and will hopefully be back again!
Our family spent several fun filled days at Big Blue on Balsam Lake. The cabin (actually a beautiful house) was very clean, lots of amenities and plenty of room for everyone. Our hostess was easily accessible and very accommodating. She was prompt in all responses to our questions and this was very appreciated. This is a beautiful place.
We had our Christmas gathering at this beautiful home in Balsam Lake, WI. Plenty of room for 18 of us - large, comfortable bedrooms, large area for kids to play, and for us to all be together as well. Kitchen was well stocked, had everything we needed. Not the year for sledding, skiing, ice fishing or skating, but the park near by was a big hit for our grandchildren.
Was good, looking for a place for family to stay nearby relatives for a wedding. Did not like the setup for lakeside access. Was awkward walking in another persons property. Couldn't figure out where the community pool was. Balsam Lake overall is a very nice town with great eatting places, nice brewery, few fun shops.
Internet single kept cutting out. Air conditioner was not balanced hot up stairs freezing down stairs. Ponton rental and kayak availably was a big plus. Over all we had a great stay, and the grandkids think we should do it ever year.
Big Blue was a beautiful home. With only 6 of us, there was more than enough room to roam, also offering a little privacy when needed. The spacious kitchen/dining area was terrific. Kitchen was well equipped with everything needed. Bedrooms used were very comfortable. Three bedrooms went unused! A surprise bonus was the garage. TV, couches/chairs, extra refrigerator, it gave off a bit of "man-cave" feel that we took advantage of. Not showing up on the listing but a pleasant surprise was the firepit and Adirondack chairs in the back yard. The front yard was huge and allowed for some great bucket golf games. I was initially concerned that the house was not "on the lake". Turned out to be a non-issue as the walk to the lake was short and easily navigated. The dock proved to be a little bluegill haven for my grandson to get his fishing fix. We rented a pontoon from the Marina nearby and were able to dock it easily. Also not mentioned in the listing was the fact that a pontoon was available to rent with the house. I believe it is shared with another rental property; you simply have to check with the host for availability.Check in/out was very smooth. Communication with our host was very good. She was very responsive to any of our inquiries and was a real pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend Big Blue, especially for a group or family of 6 or more. The sleeping capacity shown in the listing is not an exaggeration!
We loved it and would go back again. It was me and my sister with my three adult kids and their two spouses. Everyone had their own space, which is important to us. There are large common spaces and lots of bedrooms. The downstairs was really cold so good for sleeping, but not for hanging around. It was May, so I’m not sure what summer or winter would be like. The garage smelled really bad, but there was an extra fridge there. We did not use the fire pit because the chairs were too low for us older people. The charcoal part of the grill was okay. The gas part was not functional. Over all we had a great time. The town was fun. The 10am checkout was a little early for us. Cleaning all towels before we left was a pain. We wanted to wipe everything down so could have used an uncleaned rag and towel until the end. There were no Kleenex provided. The beds were comfortable. The internet was an issue until we could get someone to reboot the modem. The response from the email I sent to the contact was slow and when I called there was no answer. Access to the lake is confusing and not private, but we were not there for that.

Family vacation
Our stay was great! The house had lots of room for family time. the front & back yard had plenty of room for games and fire pit was great!
We chose this property for the space and close proximity. It did not disappoint. Space was exactly as advertised and suited our large group perfectly. Access to the lake was easy and great that a boat slip was available for use during our time.
This was an amazing property it a terrific location. The house was amazing with so much room with a spacious kitchen. We would relax outside in the evening playing yard game and night by the fire pit. Definitely worth the cost! We will do this again!!!
The property is beautiful. Plenty of room in the yard for kids to play, park vehicles and boats. The house is very well laid out. Everyone had their own room. Nice kitchen/dining room for everyone to enjoy. The lake was great - caught a lot of large blue gills for a fish fry. Beds were very comfortable and the house was clean. Owners answered any questions we had right away. A great time was had by all!
We really enjoyed our stay at lake balsam..it was 18 family members..plenty of room for everyone..the house was very clean and very nice and spacious in the inside..the yard had a firepit that we loved.. the lake was across the street..but you had to walk throu another yard to get there..my kids did use the kakays and we fished off the dock..they do have life jackets but you will have to rent a boat to actually go out on the lake to fish..we found that out late..the garage was huge and you could actually hang out there which we did because it rained while we were there..the only issue we had was the grill didn't work very well..the kitchen was stocked with everything you would have at home..overall we greatly enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again..
