We would highly recommend a stay in this property.
The gardens are beautiful and full of wildlife. We would definitely book another holiday at Armytage house.
Absolutely beautifully restored stone building. Home away from home. Surrounded by fruit trees & nature. Cannot speak highly enough of this stay. Thank you
We had a beautiful time staying here. The cottage is outstanding. Perfectly matched our expectations and the hosts are very friendly. Having visited Hobart quite a number of times now, this cottage tops the list.
One of our favourite accommodations in Tassie. We loved everything about our stay in this beautiful old converted barn. It's character created a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. We loved relaxing by the fire in the rustic alfresco area. It had a large outdoor dining table and a wood-fired pizza oven. There were plenty of pizza trays and utensils to make our own yummy pizzas. My most memorable moments were relaxing under the trees and watching the platypuses swimming in the pond.
Incredibly renovated historic barn converted to luxury home.
Hosts were lovely people but gave us complete privacy.
Incredibe renovated historic barn converted to luxury home. So warm, cozy and charming. Wandering the few acres of gardens, experiencing the Wallabies, birdlife and Echidna was so peaceful. Could have easily stayed there and relaxed without even exploring the rest of Tassie!
Enjoyed our stay. The converted grainery is very well done, high end finishing and very spacious. The surrounding rural property is beautiful - enjoyed the pond and trees. Residents include a pair of pademelons and a very proud looking chicken.
A perfect holiday accommodation venue. Thirty- five minutes easy commute to Hobart, and set in a rural acreage with beautiful gardens, stream and native wildlife. Fantastic on site hosts made us feel completely at home. An English country side experience without international flights!!
This little piece of paradise is one of our most favourite places to stay in Tasmania to date. Communication from hosts was excellent . It is not just amazing accommodation it is an experience with the chooks and the pademelons and outdoor pizza oven and fireplace - perfection. Highly highly recommended!
An Amazingly restored and presented building. Comfortable and Cozy.
Handy to Hobart and Surrounds.
Credit to the design and craftsmanship.

FANTASTIC quality fit out .so well appionted. The hosts June and Gil were very welcoming and very accommidating. We will most definitely return. Also the gardens are lovely and the privacy.
What a beautiful property! Converted and extended mill. No expense has been spared and attention to detail is appreciated. The property is beautiful and serene if not a little far away from shops and restaurants so be prepared to travel.
This place is a little gem. Very clean and tidy. With delicious fruit trees, and amazing flowers it's a beautiful garden. You can see Wallabies right next to your doorstep. Also chickens, birds and rabbits. June is very helpful. clean linen and towels. I will recommend this place to anyone.

Absolutely perfect
The photos online don't do Armytage House justice. It is in a secluded area of a beautiful property which looks like something out of a fairytale. We visited in the middle of Winter and were still able to enjoy the outdoor surroundings with the lake, gardens and outdoor fire area. The interior of the house is stunning and so comfortable - the heated flooring was a definite bonus. Beautiful local breakfast provisions, you arrive to the key in the door and everything ready to go - no fuss! We will be back next time we are in Tassie. Thankyou June and Gil!

Dear Amelia,
We're very pleased you enjoyed your stay, and would love you to visit again.
Absolutely gorgeous property. The house itself is breathtaking. Very stylish, tasteful furnishings and decorations. It has a lovely atmosphere, and was very peaceful and warm even in mid-winter.
The house is only a short distance (approx 30m?) from the landlord's house, however it is extremely private. You can not see one house from the other, due to privacy barriers created by trees and outbuildings.
Both the kitchen inside and the pizza oven outside were a cook's dream, and had just about anything you could think of. Though I do wish I'd known there was only a bar fridge (I probably just overlooked that when booking) as we wound up having to keep doing servo runs to keep our esky stocked with ice in order to keep everything cold.
My only real drawback (and the sole reason I wouldn't book here again) was the amount of road noise from the highway, which is approximately 50 to 100m from the house.
When outside using the pizza oven, or wandering the gardens, the quaintness and tranquility of the surrounding scenery was unfortunately disrupted by the sound of trucks, utes and cars barrelling down the highway. It was constant during the day. Slightly better at night. Thankfully there were no road noise issues at all once back inside the house - absolute peace and quiet due to the thickness of the old sandstone and brick walls and the double-glazed windows. It was actually quite amazing to have zero road noise inside, considering how prominent it was outside.
Our family of three adults absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful and very comfortable property. The attention to detail of the house and provisions both inside and out were exceptional , making us feel very special and extremely relaxed. We were very impressed and would have loved to stay even longer than our three nights.
Thanks June and Gil.
