We had a nice stay in Yarraville. The home was spacious and had all of the necessities. The bed was comfortable. It was very convenient to Yarraville village and the train. The shower is quite small, but it worked and had plenty of hot water . There was a bit of a musty smell in the home, perhaps from the front loader washer, which tends to happen. Overall, we had a nice stay.

Great location. Close to shops, restaurants and transport. We enjoyed our stay as the house was close to family. Value for money. Kitchen and washing facilities were good for our stay. Bathroom was quite outdated. Haven’t seen a shower curtain in years.
Comfortable property; spacious and clean house; Louise, the host was very friendly and obliging.

The property was in the perfect location to visit Yarraville. Lots of space inside and the surprise gift of chocolates were a lovely touch. We would stay again. Janine
The house was perfect for our Christmas, New Year stay. The location is perfect, as it was an easy walk to Yarraville village and train station. It was a quick train ride into the city or to the beach. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything that we needed and the living area was spacious and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

Louise is a very gracious host! The property is well equipped and quite large..perfect for four people. In a quiet neighbourhood and within easy walking distance to Yarrowville Main Street and the Metro station. Yarrowville is a quaint little environment with good restaurants and other necessities and only 10 minutes by train to the CBD of Melbourne. We would highly recommend this accommodation!

We were delighted to stay in this lovely house. The house was clean and fit the 3 of us perfectly. When we come back to Melbourne we will definitely try and stay here again! The location was a short walk into the quaint town of Yaraville and on the main train line into Melbourne. Thank you Louise for a lovely stay and your help in showing us how easy it is to navigate Mebourne. Everything we needed was within walking distance. Perfect spot for a lovely vacation.

Wonderful walkable Neighborhood
The property was clean. A bit on the retro vintage style - ie stove. But we did enjoy a few warm soaks in the large tub after a long day of touring in and around Melbourne. Overall, we loved Melbourne and the little Yarraville village. The house worked out great for us less then 1 mile from family.
My second time stay here visiting family. Location can't be beat as it's minutes to the village. The home is very spacious and has the added bonus of off street undercover parking where other places I’ve stayed in the village, I’ve struggled to get a park. The kitchen and open plan living and dining room have just been renovated. Loved the new kitchen with concrete bench tops and Miele appliances, it’s a huge and now a modern and inviting open plan space. The new images online I don’t think do it justice. The huge television screen was an added bonus to watch during my down time.
Thanks Louise for being such a gracious host and look forward to staying again when I next come to visit the family.

We thought Yarraville was a great suburb, with a cute little business district just a few blocks away that had multiple restaurants and bars, a couple of grocery stores, a pharmacy and even a movie theater within a five minute walk. It also had a train stop where we could easily ride into downtown Melbourne within about 15 or 20 minutes. Additionally, our host was very accommodating and gracious, who is respectful of your privacy if you wish, but also close by, and easily accessible by phone or text if you have any questions about the place or the area. It's always great to have a resident who is happy to provide local information that you won't get in the guidebooks. The place was very clean and spacious, which was good for us, since I was there with adult kids who enjoy their space at the end of a long travel day. If you're expecting five star furnishings, you might be a bit disappointed because the place shows some signs of age, but all we needed was a working kitchen, separate comfy bedrooms and a good base to travel from. It was great that if we were tired from traveling, we could also just walk three or four blocks, sit down at one of the restaurants or bars, and get a good feel for the local experience. We could also stock up at the grocery and cook in our own kitchen if we wanted, but after enjoying the convenient and pleasant local experience, we mostly ate relaxed breakfasts, lunches and dinners at what Louise calls "the village" . I researched Yarraville before my trip, and it ranks favorably among the many desirable suburbs of Melbourne. Wikipedia indicates that in 2020, Yarraville was named Australia's best suburb, and fifth in the world. That sounds like somewhat of a boast, but we certainly found it to be pleasing to our tastes. I checked the Wiki footnote, and it was done by a guy named James Manning who apparently polled 20,000 city dwellers to determine the "51 Coolest Neighborhoods in the World." Yarraville is not as high in other rankings, but typically in the top quartile of neighborhood real estate ratings of Melbourne's suburbs that I reviewed. I certainly haven't traveled to all of Melbourne's suburbs, but we did drive a rental car throughout some of Melbourne, and Yarraville seemed to compare favorably. Also- and importantly I think- Louise got far more recent and favorable reviews than other places I reviewed. So, all things considered, we were very happy with our stay in Yarraville, the house and the host.

Hi Clark, very happy to accommodate all your requests during your stay and thank you for your detailed and lovely review. With regards to the property and it not being 5 star, it’s in a prime location as you’ve pointed out, very spacious and more the comfortable. It is priced accordingly. The property has been fully booked because it’s been priced accordingly. If it was 5 star renovated it would be significantly more than $250 a night for 3 guests. It you google, you’ll find that Yarraville is referred to as a village. It’s status as one of of the most liveable suburbs in Melbourne is because it’s small and with so many restaurants, cafes all within a small walking distance, and with the Melbourne CBD only minutes away. Half of Melbourne comes here on weekends to enjoy the “Village” vibe. I understand that living in Denver, USA, this is something that you’ve probably never come across. Yarraville is unique. Was a pleasure hosting you and meeting you and your two lovely adult children.
Perfect for us as it was easy to get to downtown, the airport and out to the countryside. Yarraville cbd was only a couple of blocks away, we were able to go to a different restaurant every night
Quiet and clean perfect location. Owner was efficient and a pleasure to deal with. Would definitely recommend to friend and family🙂

From the moment we arrived it felt like home and that wasn't only due to the homely feel of the property but also to Louise making us feel so welcome. Nothing was too much trouble even though our booking was very last minute, she made sure everything was just so - making our stay a most enjoyable one! Will definitely be back, thanks Louise

Excellent, homely property
We enjoyed our stay at YMH. It's a spacious, clean and well presented property and the manager was a pleasure to deal with. Off street parking was a blessing and a partially stocked kitchen was helpful. We would stay there again if we returned to the area. Yarraville was only a couple of blocks away and was a delightful little village and there was a park for the kids one block away as well.

Ideally Positioned
My Melbourne House was very comfortable with a well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and a good shower. Easy walking distance to Yarraville village which is an interesting surprise - funky shops, good coffee - what more could a person need.
Louise is a helpful host - enjoyed the list of her favourite cafes, restaurants and places to visit.
Thanks Louise.

I have lived in Yarraville Village for over 15 years. A former Director of Marketing for a large construction company, I was drawn to quaint Yarraville with its rich history, Victorian architecture and unique Village feel. I would never move.... this inner city suburb has everything one could ever want. Minutes from the centre of Melbourne but like a country town with its unique Village vibe. Yarravillian's ooze friendliness and pride in their little patch of inner West and when you leave.... you will too
Why they chose this property
Location, location, location a short walk to all the Village has to offer, very large and well proportioned rooms, huge open plan living, dining and kitchen area that is flooded with plenty of natural light.
Separate desk and office chair if you are here to work.
Well equipped with all you need to cook up a storm, lots of crockery, cookware and cutlery. So Christmas lunch is covered. Safe and quiet street where all the neighbours know each other and are friendly.
A great value homely and comfortable stay in the heart of the Village and just 6km by car to Melbourne CBD.
What makes this property unique
Very large and well appointed family size home in the heart of quaint Yarraville Village. Unlike other properties it has the rare bonus of undercover off street parking for tourists car or van.
