Family friendly house just 250 metres from the beach!
"Ariella" is a lovely brick cottage situated in a quiet location very close to beautiful Shoal Bay beach. The location is one of the best in the Nelson Bay area, situated between Shoal Bay and Little Beach and central to everything.
Ariella has modern appliances, fittings and furniture. The main house consists of 2 bedrooms (sleeps 5) PLUS there is a semi-detached self contained unit which sleeps another 3. With 2 seperate, self contained sleeping areas, Ariella provides a flexible range of accommodation options. It's perfect for families/extended families, and/or multiple couples. There is little or no traffic noise. An enclosed outdoor area ensures young children can play safely - plus there's a large grassed and shady front yard.
Shops, restaurants, clubs and marinas are all within a short walking distance - or at most a couple of minutes drive. This is a very comfortable getaway location where you can relax and wind down in a quiet and private location after enjoying the fabulous beaches and many other activities the area offers.

House Layout
"Ariella" consists of the main house which has 2 bedrooms (sleeps 5)- PLUS a semi-detached unit (sleeps additional 3). This is ideal if there are 2 x families or couples - as each can have their own self-contained space whilst sharing the common living and outdoor areas. The house and unit are "interconnected" via the gamesroom and covered outdoor area. Its just like the two areas make up one large house with a shared living and covered outdoor area in the midlle. (We can arrange a discount if you dont need the semi detached "unit" area).
The main cottage features: - main bedroom with queen size bed and ceiling fan - second bedroom with triple bunk bed (double/single on top) - modern 3 way bathroom with spa bath - modern kitchen with dishwasher and pantry - washer and dryer - dining table and chairs (seats 8 comfortably) - leather lounge - large 42" plasma, DVD, sound system - covered outdoor BBQ area with gas BBQ (seats 8) - outdoor spa - air conditioning in living area (split system) - BBQ area
From the main house you step out into a large covered BBQ area which also connects to a detached building which features a large games room with table tennis, soccer and lounge area. The games room also leads into the self contained "unit" which is a single room layout with its own: - queen bed - single bed - ensuite - air conditioning (split system) - kitchenette (tea and coffee making facilities only)
Linen and towels are not included, however, there are local service providers in the area whom you can contact if this is required.
Main Features
If you want to be close to the beach and other attractions, but away from the hustle and bustle of main roads and shops, then Ariella is the place for you. The house is set in a quiet location, and is situated well back from the street, providing you with quiet and privacy. Just out the front there's a walkway to the beach which is only a short stroll away. You can walk or cycle to the cafes, restaurants and shops at Shoal Bay or Nelson Bay - or visit the Marina from where regular dolphin and whale watch cruises depart.
The house is clean and comfortable. It has been refurbished with modern furniture and fittings and has comfortable beds, two (2) large plasma TV's, DVD players and stereo. A complimentary selection of DVD's, together with a selection of card and board games is provided for your use and convenience.
The large covered outdoor BBQ area, with a new gas BBQ and modern outdoor setting and sun lounges, provides an ideal place to sit around and just relax. And,if it starts to rain, you can retreat to the "games room" for some indoor activities, watch a movie, or just chill out.

Perfect place for a family holiday.Plenty of space in the house, outdoor area, games room and the separate living area, which was ideal for our Son and Daughter in Law and small toddler so he could sleep without being disturbed by the rest of us.

Glenn and his family were excellent guests and looked after the house as if it was their own. No hesitation in having them back.
Myself and two children aged 9 and 10 recently enjoyed a week stay.
The property was wonderful, it has everything you need and is in a really quite location.
We all enjoyed the spa and games room and can't wait to return.
We had such a great experience staying at Joe’s accomodation. It was perfect for our family. My husband and I had our own little house and the boys stayed in the other accomodation at the front of the property. Everything was perfect. Would absolutely stay againJoanne

Joanne and her family were wonderful guests and I will give her five and a half stars for leaving the premises so clean. We will certainly welcome Joanne and her family back again.
The weather was a bit dodgy with rain and a bit cold so all the aspects of the house helped with having an indoor stay. The spa was relaxing and the kids loved the games room. The outside seating was also a really good feature particularly given the weather.

Awesome property - great location, plenty of room and super clean
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Fabulous location: only a short stroll to the beach and walking distance to both Shoal Bay and Nelson Bay. The premises itself was perfect for our needs, It was super clean, the kitchen, bedrooms and games room had everything we needed (and more) and the seperate living areas (for adults and kids) was an unexpected bonus. Highly recommended..

Fabulous guest. So nice to see house left in an orderly and clean state and respect shown for furniture and fittings. Welcome guest back anytime.
This place is really nice and has everything you need. so close to beach and we enjoyed outside area the most. Everything was perfect and more. we will definitely come back for more holidays. All appliances work well. Thanks for hosting us.
Nice place well appointed loved the undercover area. Couple issues that I feel need to be addressed sooner than later, no light in the Rangehood and fridge definitely too small for a larger family. If I didn’t have my portable fridge freezer we would’ve been in a lot of trouble so definitely 50or 60L bigger fridge is an absolute must. Also ceiling fan in the lounge dining would also be a welcome to move the air around. Although we were happy it had Wi-Fi. The Internet speed was way down on add a faster plan would be a bonus when streaming..

Thanks for the positive review Ian, and also the constructive feedback provided. The kitchen fridge is compact due to available space, however there is a second fridge in the unit which combined, seems to satisfy most guests. We will look at the other items you mentioned. It was a pleasure to have you as a guest.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 'Ariella'. It was like our home away from home! The house was tidy and everything was easy to find. It was spacious and in particular we loved the games area for the kids to play, especially when there was wet weather! It was a great location near the beach and we easily accessed the shops at Shoal Bay multiple times. The owners were easy to communicate with and we appreciated them making contact with us before and after our stay! We looking forward to returning sometime in the future.

Clare and her family treated the house as their own. They were wonderful guests and we will gladly welcome them back.
This place has everything you need plus what you want. The hosts were amazing and went out of their way to ensure we were informed and settled in. The pantry is fully stocked with the basics in condiments, decent sized pots and pans and trays to serve the number of people it accommodates, along with room to stock groceries. The stove and oven work well, the 2 fridges makes all the convenience you need. The bedrooms roomy, with plenty of spaces to store luggage and clothes. The teenagers’ retreat suited us just fine, we had fun using the tennis table and futsal table, playing games, reading books and the spa is an added bonus we all enjoyed. So close to Shoal bay, Little beach and Nelson bay. Sad to go but hopefully return soon. Thanks so much.

Great location for a quiet stay. Only a short walk to the beach. This house is flat and great for families especially with little kids as the grass & outdoor entertainment area is enclosed. The playroom is a fun spot with additional TV and couches. The house was very clean.
We chose this house for 2 families, to get away with minimal risk during covid. Our stay consisted of simply walking in, putting our bags down, loading the fridge and activating holiday mode. There's plenty to do here, our teens enjoyed the games room & walks to the beach so much so that they barely used the complimentary wifi. A great sized table both indoor and outdoor saw us enjoying heated family games of uno, which didn't upset the neighbours and kept the kids off their devices. Us parents enjoyed the spa and there's enough room to be on top of each other or enjoy some peace & quiet on a book or a nap. The outdoor shower is great for the kids after the beach and for a quick shower before & after the spa.
The kitchen has a great sized pantry and under bench area to store your groceries without filling the bench, very handy when both families over cater on food. There's appliances and an excellent assortment of cookware to get you full use of the weber style BBQ for 7 people. Lot's of platter dishes for mid afternoon biscuits and cheese. No stingey 8 plates & glasses here, there's enough to fill the dishwasher and still have plates for breakfast. A full sized washing machine, dryer and clothesline saw us well. The only downfall was hotwater supply, but the house and flat appear have seperate hotwater services which worked out well.
The owners here are clearly on the ball with needs and wants in a holiday house with kids. We will be back!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ariella. The hosts are vey thoughtful and considerate and the property is located conveniently between Shoal Bay and Little Beach, no need to drive. There is ample space for children to play outside or inside at the property and is a well appointed holiday home. I highly recommend Ariella.

Comfortable home located close to child-friendly Shoal Bay beach. We had a very enjoyable stay.
Older-style holiday home but well-maintained. Our kids enjoyed the games room. The granny flat would be good for teenage kids but a little too separate from the main house to suit younger children. All in all we really enjoyed our stay at Ariella.

Relaxing house, even with a toddler!
Our family had a great time staying here. It was well set up for kids, including our toddler, and being only a short stroll to the beach meant lots of time in the sand and surf.

Great beach stay
We had a great weekend at Ariella and appreciated the thought that the owners have put into the place with touches such as some basics in the pantry and pans/plates/glasses for every occasion. Great bbq area undercover for when it started to sprinkle and the spa was spotless. Hope to be back soon!

Fantastic location, clean and tidy
We stayed at Ariella for 2 nights and had a fantastic time. We were a party of 4 women and it was great we all had our own beds and loved the outdoor entertaining area. The location to the beach and town is fantastic. We walked to both Shoal bay and Nelson bay for dinner. We also spent loads of time at the beach which was literally a few minutes walk away.
The house is very clean and well stocked if you intend to cook. Will definitely be back again with our families. Thank you Joe and Marjorie for your great communication and holiday home. Couldn't have asked for a better stay.
