Branwens Retreat- the perfect escape near Berry
Named after the Welsh goddess of love and beauty this charming country retreat is located in Coolangatta - near the historic township of Berry on the beautiful South Coast of NSW. Located in dairy country, this unique cottage is surrounded by amazing views over green pastures to the mountains, close to beaches, wineries, and the Shoalhaven River. It's an Ideal place for those seeking a destination for relaxation whilst having award winning restaurants and wineries nearby.
WELL SET UP FOR COUPLES & SMALL GROUPS OF ADULTS - IT'S THE PERFECT PLACE FOR A GIRLS GET-AWAY OR A ROMANTIC WEEKEND.
Families with older children (7+) are also welcome. Children under age 7 by negotiation.
Due to the rural location and unfenced water on the property we are not suitable for small children (toddlers) or pets.
Branwens Retreat is a picturesque guest cottage (130 sqm) set on five acres in the parish of Coolangatta, near the villages of Shoalhaven Heads and Berry. This is a peaceful location but not isolated. Beautiful beaches, bush walks, wineries and quaint historical villages are all within a short drive.
The cottage is located at the base of Coolangatta Mountain within 10 minutes to wonderful surf beaches, the historical township of Berry and some great award winning restaurants and wineries. Further afield you will find Whale Watching and Dolphin Cruises and our National Marine Park- Jervis Bay (1/2 hour), magnificent mountains and rainforest valleys full of interesting bush walks.
Comfortable accommodation, with a few little luxuries, we aim to cater to adults and older children. We are popular for escape weekends, romantic interludes and retreats with the girls. The cottage is self-catering, the full kitchen is well supplied with appliances to help you cook up a storm. An open plan living area and wide verandahs mean you can soak up the rural scenery at any time of day and in all weathers. The 5-person outdoor Hot Tub Spa on the back patio is an ideal spot to take in the stunning sunsets as you sip your champagne.
Check out the legend of Branwen on our FB page and see our short film on our own site.

Branwens Retreat is located just over two hours from Sydney and Canberra on the South Coast of New South Wales Australia. This is a popular area for weekend travellers and those interested in spending more time exploring secluded coves, regional wineries, mountains and rainforest.
The cottage overlooks green pastures towards the mountains, 1 klm to the Shoalhaven river and with olives groves and vineyards in sight.
The perfect place to take in the starlight and the sound of our local frogs...
There is a minimum two night stay, three nights on public holiday weekends and Xmas peak period. Ask about weekly discounts and mid-week specials.
PLEASE NOTE:
The cottage is set in it's own relaxed rambling cottage gardens -a little bit wild as we like it that way. As in all country settings you are likely to encounter wildlife including amazing birds, frogs, lizards, owls and yes maybe the odd cobweb and spider or a microbat (a protected Australian species). None of these are harmful and all our natures gifts to enjoy.
Total number of guests accommodated is six.
Pricing is for two guests per night, additional guests are $65 per night ($85 per night over the Xmas/New year peak period).
There is a three night minimum stay on public holiday weekends and 4 night over the peak Xmas/New year period.
Special Events:
The infamous Berry Country Fair takes place on the 1st Sunday of the month (excepting February).
What our guests have to say:
"Our stay was amazing-your cottage is magical. We will definitely come back again". (Jane, April 2017).
"We are a couple who left for a brief weekend away from our large family and were so delighted with this beautiful 'old-worldly decorated' home (even though built only a few years back)- we were taken back in time, but did not feel deprived of all the comforts of today! We were thrilled with this haven - so many little extras provided for in the kitchen. Sleep was easy as it is whisper quiet, the bed super comfortable, you have to be there to experience the amazing views of the mountainous escarpments, especially from the outside jacuzzi at sunset! Don't forget to turn the fountain on! Stop & smell the roses. Discover all the beautiful & amazing pieces in the home on display - you' ll feel a sense of wonder. We would go back as this place is really gorgeous! The owner is really lovely. Visit the winery up the hill :)" (Michael & Pam, October, 2012).
"Branwens is the most beautiful place we have ever stayed in - we all thoroughly enjoyed our visit. I don't think that we could think of anything further to improve it. Our friends have stayed in some beautiful places but they said that Branwens was truly the most beautiful " (Sue, December 2010).
