Rich in history and character, this charming cottage was originally transported by barge before the bridge existed, making it a true heritage treasure. While thoughtfully updated over the years, it still retains its authentic charm, featuring original finishes such as eighty-year-old light shades that create a warm and nostalgic ambiance throughout.
Located in an exceptionally rare beachfront setting shared by only ten properties on the entire island, this home offers unparalleled access to white sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters. Enjoy breathtaking sunrises and sunsets from your own deck, watch the kids play safely on the shore, or cast a line and fish directly from your backyard. For boating enthusiasts, the sandy flats at the front of the property make anchoring your boat simple and convenient.
Beyond the tranquility of the beach, a short walk brings you to the vibrant heart of Bongaree. Here you’ll find the iconic Bongaree Jetty, a variety of shops, cafes, clubs, and restaurants, as well as parks and scenic walking and biking trails. Nature lovers will appreciate nearby Buckleys Hole, a haven for bird watchers, while weekend markets add a lively community vibe.
The cottage provides a cozy and comfortable retreat with three bedrooms and one bathroom. The main bedroom features a queen-size bed, TV, and air conditioning for restful nights. The second bedroom offers a double bed with air conditioning, and the third bedroom is furnished with two single beds, also air-conditioned. The bathroom, located just a few steps from the lounge, includes a separate toilet, shower, vanity, and a washing machine for your convenience.
Inside, the living area is inviting and equipped with air conditioning, a comfortable sofa, and a TV. The fully equipped kitchen caters to all your culinary needs, while the separate dining room with a breakfast bar offers lovely views of the water—perfect for family meals or entertaining guests.
Step outside to enjoy classic outdoor experiences: gather around the front yard fire pit, teach the kids to cook over a camp oven, roast marshmallows, or enjoy a barbecue with the day’s fresh catch using the special Fisherman’s outdoor setup. Tidal Dreams is a wonderful old cottage full of charm and homeliness. Location was perfect with just a stroll to the beach front. The cottage was just everything we could have imagined. Sitting on the deck with a drink and getting to watch dolphins swim through was an absolute dream. We are definitely keen to come again and experience this wonderful place again. 11 out of 10 😍
Initial reactions to this house were mixed... it seemed old, basic and tired even, but then the overall vibe picks you up, makes you smile, and makes you absolutely fall in love with it. Despite where it is and what it close by, it is miraculously hidden away and private. The direct access to the beach and the magical view from the back deck are all you need, the rest is just a bonus. The house does have character and some nice little surprises, but don't expect glamour... you don't need it here. Just relax and enjoy every moment exploring a beautiful oasis not far from Brisbane. Fascinated by the soldier crabs!

Thank you for your review. Yes our property is advertised as a fisherman's beach side retreat we never mention anything about it being glamourous so are not sure why travelers would be expecting such. It is all about the beauty of the houses character and location. The direct beach access and ultimate relaxation we can offer our guests. Safe Travels.
A good little house for a quiet stay. Very relaxing. But the new multi storey block of flats being built next door took some of the shine off, and lost a lot of privacy in the backyard. Luckily, we were not overlooked at night time, when we lit the outdoor fire to warm ourselves under the stars, but once the flats have residents, that experience may be very different.

Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay.
Had a wonderful stay at this beach cottage located right on the beach. Was clean, tidy, and centrally located to everything Bribie has to offer, but was secluded enough to enjoy your privacy. Will definitely be back!

Great Location - Needs more information.
Location was absolutely amazing. Beach front - saw dolphins everyday however entire house needed a clean and we were not advised there was a construction site beside. Far too noisy and we had to leave our beautiful little cottage to escape the noise for 5 days. Thankfully this was just a short stroll away to the shops and cafe's in Bongaree.
