Selby Lakeside Cottage

This 2 bedroom cottage is a true holiday house. With beautiful views of the lake and beaches which allow the family pet within a five minute drive, water activities for all are a must.

The property has a brand new luxury bathroom with free standing bath and rain maker shower as well as a refurbished kitchen with microwave and full sized stove offering very comfortable facilities. There is a garage and plenty of room to park your boat. Pets are catered for with a large fully fenced grassed backyard.

The property has two bedrooms and can accomodate up to 4 persons comfortably.

Relax on the front verandah watching the ever changing sunsets whilst enjoying local seafood available 100 metres away.

The gas log fire is a must for those chilly winter nights. Selby Lakeside is a value for money lakeside retreat with guests returning time and time again.

Love stayng here

Cozy and warm in the cold weather and fabulous in the warm weather. Fresh seafood just across the road and a wonderful stocked kitchen with anything you need to cook up a feast. Our dog loves free run i n the fenced backyard.

Loved my stay at thus 2 bedroom cottage right in Swansea. Could see the waterfront directly across road from front deck. Could walk to shops, supermarkets, cafe and restaurants. The cottage was much nicer than the pictures. Will definitely be staying there again. Great value for money.

Relaxing

Selby Lakeside Cottage was a cute, clean family mini get away home with an awesome sunset view that was exactly what it claimed to be at a great price. The location was amazing! Quiet and central to everything we wanted to visit like walking trails and beautiful beaches. The host Donna was easy to contact and when we had a small issue with the TV remote she fixed it within the hour.

Great location

Location was perfect, enjoyed some beautiful sunsets House is clean, highly recommend. Donna was a pleasure to deal with. Only downside was backyard lawn needed a mow and bindi"s were a problem, grandson visited and could not go on lawn due to the bindi's. (Small child). Still did not spoil my stay !!

Fantastic location, perfect for us !

We had 3 nights at Shelby Lakeside cottage and it was so relaxing it felt like we had been away for longer. It truly is lakeside and the back yard is truly pet friendly. We had brought bikes with us and cycled around as the area is very flat. The cottage was clean , cosy and small but to be honest we didn’t spend a lot of time there as we were always out doing something. Caves beach was literally a 5 minute drive away. We will definitely come back again and look forward to our next visit.

Perfect location and pet friendly

Took our two small dogs for their first ever holiday - this property was perfect for our needs and the dogs loved it! Swansea is a flat area, and there's some great walking paths right near the house. Amazing views of the lake from the lounge room and front deck. Property was clean and contained everything we needed for our stay. The workers club up the road does takeaway meals which was perfect for a few dinners. The backyard is huge, with nice grass, shade and a secure fence. The only slight issue was one of our dogs was obsessed with going under the house, would be nice if there was some sort of barrier to stop this occurring. Highly recommend a stay here! We will be back :)

Poor communication and extremely rude host detracted from nice location

Unfortunately my stay was ruined by the host who was extremely rude and not at all focused on ensuing we (my 19yr old daughter and I) had a pleasant stay. I hadn’t heard from the host so I followed up to get the access details- she later claimed my phone was out of service, which wasn’t true as I’d had numerous calls that day. Personally, I don’t go around checking beds have sheets on them- I assume they are made up so we can just go to sleep if we get in late, however the second bed wasn’t made up which I mentioned politely to the host the next morning - mainly so she washed the undercover my daughter slept on, for the next guests. This caused the host to send me a deluge of email abuse because she expected we’d only use one bed- she doesn’t like making up the second bed apparently. I felt the host was only interested in the money, her 5 star rating and ensuing we were out by 10am sharp. It was certainly not a relaxing stay, from the tone of her deluge of emails I was worried she’d damage my car or do something else crazy, it was a very odd and unpleasant experience.

A perfect trip away with spectacular sunsets. Enjoyed Hams Beach and Caves Beach and the proximity to the property. We had everything we needed especially access to a washing machine and the outdoor hose came in handy with the dog, after trips to the beach. The Channel Cafe was a favourite and the seafood so close by a bonus. Our dog felt right at home the moment we arrived which was of great comfort, being her first trip away with us. A special thank you to Donna for accommodating an extra day for us.

Large well kept and clean property. Kitchen well equipet however had difficulties with the coffee maker. Pod machine would be easier to operate. We had a very relaxing stay and can recommend the property.

Stayz is misleading. Listing said property has a hot tub with symbol like a jacuzzi, but there is none. It only has a bath in the bathroom.

Homely little place with picture perfect views

Homely little house with a quiet neighbourhood and picture perfect views of the lake from inside or outside of the home. The front and back yard was secure for our dogs. Communication with owner was perfect. Recommend this stay for sure !

Great location

Cute, tidy little cottage with frontage to the lake. Lovely to sit on the front verandah and watch the sunset. Close to shops, boat ramp, and short drive to some great swimming locations. Yard is fenced, but has 'pool fencing' along side of house to garage so would not be suitable for our tiny dog who would slip through the gaps. The house has 2 bedrooms. The children's room has a single bed and a trundle bed. Upon stripping the kid's bed of the sheets I discovered that both the matresses had large stains. I also removed the bedding from the queen bed discovering that the quilt inside the quilt cover was mouldy and stained. The shower had some mould, and some soap scum was visible on the glass. Kitchen switches on the power point are cracked and need replacing. Laundry is located at the back of the garage and the footpath to reach it is very uneven. Also lawn could do with a mow.

Swansea chillax

Selby cottage is a quaint cottage opposite Lake Macquarie with water views. Great view of the New Years Eve fire works. Relaxing destination and close to local shops. Good size yard for our fur baby. Donna was easy to comminicate with Great stay.
