Would have liked to have at least a roll of TP for each bathroom or say you do not provide. Same with dishwasher pods. Overall the stay was nice although short.
We really enjoyed your fantastic home!!! It was perfect for us for a weekend getaway for snow tubing and relaxing!!!

Nice place
We enjoyed our visit. There was ample room for 6 adults and 4 children. There was a nice game room for the kids. House was spacious. Driveway entrance is a bit steep but negotiable with care. Would stay here again.

We had plenty of room for our family to have privacy and gather around the dining room table. The kitchen had plenty of supplies. It was spacious and had activities for the kids, like games and ping pong. The decks were quiet and peaceful.

Great place to celebrate JMU graduation.
We booked this house with my parents for JMU graduation weekend. It was a beautiful setting with great decks. 20 min from JMU. Plenty of room for a group of 10. Pretty much anything you need in the kitchen. Driveway a little scary at first, but we got use to it. Would recommend.

A beautiful home that needs some TLC
The house is beautiful and very spacious, we loved having the 2 floors to spread out in and having 2 decks was wonderful. The kitchen was really nice and so well stocked with dishes, glassware, cookware and everything you would need in a kitchen! The cleanliness of the house needs to be addressed and some maintenance issues need to be resolved, but overall a great place to stay!

Unlike other properties I’ve visited, this home was absolutely stocked up. Kitchen had everything needed for two families. The home was very spacious and very beautiful. Cleanliness was slightly decent, but nothing we couldn’t get up. Communication with owner to report any issues was fairly easy. At the end of our trip we would recommend this home to any families wanting to visit the area. Being inside the resort and having everything near by was beautiful.

From the owner: "Hi. You were an excellent guest. Thanks for the good review."
No patio furniture Could only shower one at a time and had several bathrooms. All kitchen supplies were greasy. Refrigerator had two bowls in it collecting water. Oven had a very strong, grease order and need a cleaning. So we had to eat out every day because it just wasn’t clean enough to use the stove or oven. Shower curtain in the upstairs bathroom was full of mold mildew. Upside one of the twin beds upstairs was very comfortable. That is where I slept. Will not rent again. I went with a couple friends that wanted much space. I am an owner at Massanutten Resortsand this Rental was unacceptable. The way it was I will not retire..

Uncomfortable stay
Upon arrival it appeared as if the property had not been throughly cleaned. Bathroom showers seemed as if they had been wiped but not cleaned. Some bed linen had stains. Fabric furniture could use a deep cleaning. Guest contact only followed up once about issues and concerns.

Hi Shanell, we take it seriously when guests let us know that we missed the mark, and after reading your feedback, we followed up with the homeowner who wanted to share the following:- We understand how important cleanliness is, and we’re reviewing our processes to ensure every detail meets our high standards, even during busy seasons.- While we regularly replace linens, we will double-check for any items that may need to be replaced immediately. We want all guests to feel comfortable and valued during their stay, and we're sorry if your concerns weren’t addressed to your satisfaction. Thanks for providing this feedback as we continue to refine the guest experience.
Our stay at Massanutten Resort was fantastic. This large (5-bedroom, 4-bath) cabin exceeded our expectations. It was very clean and comfortable. Every room was clean and maintained to the highest standard. We particularly enjoyed the large/modern kitchen, the large family room with comfortable leather couches, fireplace and large screen TV, and the fantastic game room with ping pong table, PACMAN machine, small piano and other games. The cabin’s layout with two Master Bedrooms and two furnished outside decks was perfect for accommodating a large group (two families) comfortably, ensuring privacy and space for everyone. We appreciated the attention to detail in the décor, which added a warm and welcoming touch. The WiFi was excellent. The location was perfect, very close to all the resort activities. The mountain views were exceptional. This cabin is highly recommended. We will stay here again on our next visit to Massanutten.

The Rental of Almosts
This rental is very good on the surface but the listed amenities are more legal loopholes than actual amenities. There's a dishwasher, but no detergent. There's dishware, but nothing child friendly. There's a gas fireplace, but the instructions were for a different model. There's a flat screen TV, but not enough seating for everyone. There's a checkers set, but missing a third of the pieces. The ping pong table was nice although crowded. The kids did enjoy the Pac-Man game All in all, its a nice enough place if you have a full schedule of external events. Also, I would not recommend bringing young children. There is no functional outdoor space for them.

Left early ... filthiest rental unit we've EVER rented.
The unit was simply filthy. There was a used razor in the bathroom, shoes in a bedroom, dirty linen on one of the beds (I'm being kind and leaving out the gory details), a broken window downstairs, absolutely raggedy filthy rug in one of the bathrooms, fruit loops strewn on the kitchen floor, something gross going down the walls. I have photos of it all should you be interested. I contacted the manager immediately, we left after a couple of nights and all crammed into another rental we had. I've since reached out to the manager asking for an equitable refund, he said he reached out to the owner and waiting to hear from them; we departed on 6/12; there's been plenty of time for somebody to respond. There are plenty of options, choose another one.

So much potential
House was in a great location, great size, that’s about all the pros.Extremely steep, gravel driveway with limited visibility. It should be salted, but it’s not. There is no snow shovel, just a decorative painted 4inch shovel on the porch. I called the guest contact, no answer or return call until the next day ( we called when checking in about 4:30pm, she didn’t call back until 11am). She stated we could park up top so we did. We received a citation from the MPOA, thankfully we were able to catch them to talk it through and not be towed. Every game in the place has missing pieces and is not playable. Keyboard is broken, most ping pong paddles are torn. When they say “no towels” they mean no towels, hand towels, dish towels, paper towels, napkins, and very limited single ply toilet paper. Also, there was one single trash bag provided that we eventually found in a drawer.Dishes are NOT clean. So many dirty bowls, plates, pans, and silverware. We ended up washing things before and after use because we had to. This could be a great place if it were managed better

Hi Margaret, we appreciate your detailed feedback and are sorry to hear that some aspects of your stay didn’t meet expectations. After sharing your comments with the homeowner, they’d like to provide some clarification:- The driveway is steep, as is common for mountain homes, but there is an alternate parking space at the top of the hill for guest convenience. However, vehicles must be fully within the designated space to avoid citations.- The driveway is shoveled after each snowfall, but a shovel will be added for guest use.- The homeowner hasn’t had past reports of unclean dishes, but it’s possible a previous guest put them away dirty, and the cleaning team didn’t catch it. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Additionally, we will provide additional toilet paper and trash bags moving forward.- Games and recreational items will be checked for missing or broken pieces to ensure they are usable for future guests. We value your feedback as we work to improve the guest experience. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts!

Great location, but house can use some TLC
- one of the rooms, advertised as a bedroom, doesn't have an actual wall separating it from the kitchen. Instead, it's a piece of furniture. Therefore, all the light, noise, smells, etc., are seen, heard, and smelled. It should not be considered a real room.
- there were ants and other bugs in various places in the house
- there were only 2 trashbags provided, no extra toilet paper, no dishwasher detergent.
- the location was great, and the resort amenities good for any age.
- point of contact worked to accomodate our requests, and we are grateful for their cooperation

Served its purpose
We booked this property for Graduation weekend. The reviews were mixed, but we needed a property with 4 bedrooms & there was not much left. The house itself was very roomy. There was plenty of room for everyone. The furniture is dated and some of the beds were hard and not very comfortable. The description did not specify a few things that would've been helpful. There is a Keurig and regular coffee pot, two slice toaster, plenty of dishes, silverware, cups, wine glasses, etc. Pots and pans are limited, but it was enough to make breakfast. We didn't know if there would be these items, so we brought our Keurig, cups, plates, etc. which we really didn't need. THERE ARE NO GARBAGE BAGS AND TOILET PAPER. NOT ONE BAG!! Out of the 4 bathrooms, only one had TP. We read that in a review so we brought our own and garbage bags..thankfully. The worst part about this house is the driveway and location. It is in Massanutten, but its way way in there. Very dark roads and not really easy to get to. The driveway is a joke and extremely dangerous. I'm thankful my elderly father decided not to make the trip because he never would've found the place let alone make it down that driveway. Its not just that it is steep...I can handle that - the driveway looks like a gravel walkway. Plus you have to drive up and then straight down so you can't see if you are too far left or too far right. The left side has no barrier so if you are too far to the left - you are going down into the trees. The Right side has a brick wall which we almost hit twice. Do not attempt to arrive at night. First, you will never find it and second you could go right off the side. Then, once you do make it to the bottom - it levels off, BUT you have to try and turn around without going into the drop off that surrounds the driveway. Its truly horrible. There is no way more then 2 cars will fit and my brother has a pickup truck and could not fit. He had to park on the top of the hill above the house. The outside has no front or back yard. There are two decks out the back which are nice, but are really old and the drop off has to be 100 feet. We didn't want anyone hanging out outside on the deck because we didn't think it was safe. The outside furniture is crap! We had nice weather and it would've been nice to sit outside but we were stuck in the house. Lastly, find out where the garbage dumpster is before you get there-we never found it and had to take garbage with us.

First time home rental disappointment at resort
My family and I were excited to rent a big house at Massanutten we usually rent the Mountainside Villas town houses. We were happier there and it cost less ! Renting the homes had extra fees $200+ . The home advertised NO PETS then we got there and got dog hair on our cloths , the manager said the owners were recently there . I spotted a roach running across the kitchen counter. The refrigerator was leaking onto all the shelves and the manager never sent anyone to fix and freezer was never cleaned out or cleaned . The oven wasn't cleaned . Had to sleep on hot flannel sheets in the Spring time. Entry & exit from the driveway is a safety issue and the railings on the top deck seemed a little shaky a heavy person may not want to lean on it to much. The decorations in home were a bit outdated also. We tried to work with the manager but didn't get a lot of help .

Hi Bruce, the right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they would like to share the following:
- We strive to be transparent with our guests at every stage of the booking process and do break down all rates and fees before the reservation is confirmed.
- We have recently purchased a new vacuum and will address the issue with dog hair immediately.
- We have never had any issues with roaches though apologize if this affected your stay.
- The leak in the refrigerator has been fixed.
- There are 2 sets of sheets per bed in the home for the comfort of our guests. We would have been happy to show you where the extra sheets were kept if you had reached out.
- The railings on the deck is perfectly safe.
Thanks for taking the time to leave your review.
Scenic location; very spacious; nice kitchen; kids loved it due to it having a ping pong table and electronic keyboard; good selection of games, puzzles, and books; comfortable beds.
