A short 10 minute drive from Bangalow cruising through winding country lanes, you head up through the canopy of remnant rainforest ... to emerge on a ridgeline with stunning views across to the Nightcap Ranges, and arrive at what we affectionately call "The Tin Shed"; a self contained cottage centrally located to all the places you may want to visit in the area.
A beautiful funky space, an eclectic blend of mostly recycled materials and some new furnishings, it is peaceful, rustic and the only sounds are the local birdlife.
You have 3 main rooms: a bedroom with a queen antique brass bed and an open lounge area with kitchen facilities to one side. The bathroom is separate and there is a barbecue under the verandah.
What's to do? Well, the and explore...
At dusk or dawn spot some local wildlife, breakfast at one of the local cafes in Bangalow or the surrounding hills, it's 20 mins to Byron for a surf or swim in beautiful clear and warm water - often with dolphins, visit the farmers or weekend markets that buzz for some handmade objects or local produce, do some bushwalking along the coast or in the hills such as Minyon Falls, swim in our local waterhole, then... come home to a glass of wine, relax and cook up some of the produce you bought on the barbecue only to do it all again next day.
Local festival highlights include Bluesfest, the Byron Bay Writer's festival, the BBQ & Bluegrass festival in Bangalow and also the Bangalow Classical Music festival. Winter is also whale watching season and there are a number of fantastic viewing spots around the coastline.
We have lived in the area for over 14 years and can assist with places to go, and are happy to organise such things as a massage, yoga class or put together a picnic hamper.
