Hi Jason,
Glad you enjoyed your stay at our holiday home. It's situated in a lovely, quiet native garden setting. And gives you easy access to the many beaches and scenic walks. Thanks for your excellent review. Hope you will stay again.
Cheers Mike and Liz
Communication and information from host was outstanding. We all loved the homely feel of the house and property with wildlife and the natural bush garden an additional bonus. Such a great location close to the best of East Tasmania.
We had a great time at this very comfortable property and loved the fireplace on a cold evening. It has an excellent kitchen which we used for some home cooked meals and loved the view from the newly refurbished bathroom.

Clean, spacious, well - equipped, conveniently located.
Great holiday house in a quiet location with easy access to the adjacent Freycinet national park. Everthing we needed for an enjoyable stay. Thoroughly enjoyed the house and the National Park.
We just enjoyed a fabulous family holiday at Coles bay. The house was very clean, spacious, had everything you could need (including a very well stocked kitchen making cooking easy!). The location was ideal for daily hikes in and around wineglass bay. Our hosts were extremely responsive and a delight to deal with. Would recommend!

Mike’s place was comfortable and ideally located for our stay as we explored the rock climbing around the Hazards. He was very easy to communicate with and made sure we had clear instructions. The house was well set up for the four of us and we enjoyed the spacious deck and living room with fire place for a cold night. We would stay here again!
Really happy with our stay here 5min drive out of the Coles Bay township. Our kids loved this place, plenty of space to play inside and explore it in the bush. There's a track adjacent the house with a easy 15min stroll through the bush down to the beach.
The house was clean and tidy with all the typical requirements. The wood fire kept the house nice and warm.. Three reasonable size bedrooms fitted with comfortable beds.
We would happily recommend this stay

Property quite old but comfortable. Only parts refurbished
Have to have a fire if you want to have heating in living area.
5 minute drive from town
The house was lovely - great spacious living room with fresh, new carpet, comfy sofas, well equipped and provisioned kitchen and nice outlook onto native coastal vegetation meant that there were lots of birds around and you are not looking onto another property - good holiday vibe! Easy walk (800m) to a lovely beach - good for swimming, walking etc in the bay. Easy drive to Coles Bay township, Freycinet National Park (for great walks and spectacular scenery) and the local Marine Farm for fresh oysters. Really enjoyed the stay here and would return. Just be aware you are expected to clean the property before leaving as it is difficult to get cleaners in the area.

Family for 2 nights
Not bad. Pretty dated, needs an overhaul. Exceptionally clean and well presented. Very long list of instructions for us from the owner, and asking for updates, but got no response in return. Expensive, I guess everywhere is locally. But all in all it did a the job we needed and we liked staying there.

Hi Tom,
Yes, our holiday home is always presented as exceptionally clean.
Rather than dated, our family shack is deliberately furnished in a retro style with some antique pieces.
Sorry it wasn't to your taste, but it is exactly as described on the website and the 30 photos should have showed you what to expect.
As you found, it is well equipped with all you could need for a comfortable stay. The instructions are to ensure you know how everything works.
I hope you found the suggestions about walks and activities in the Coles Bay area useful, it is memorable region.
Trust you enjoy the rest of your trip.
Cheers Mike and Liz
Only the 1 shower at the residence which was stated in the description. The problem was the shower was very poor with just a small amount of water coming out. This needs to be fixed

Poor beds, a bit tired
Old Bed frames not great, especially with 3 teenagers. Cobwebs. House rather tired except for bathroom. Beer bottles rattling on buffet each time walked past. Could easily make small improvements.

Hi Jodi,
Had you taken the time to read the description and flick through the photos on the website you would see our holiday is perfectly described home on the website with many photos of the interior, (including old style, but very comfortable beds and also the kitchen cabinet with beer bottles collected on overseas trips around the world)
I'm sorry your personal tastes and opinions were offended by old style bed frames and tinkling bottles. As you must have noticed, our preference is older style furniture and is deliberately chosen. This was our choice. and preference for our holiday home.
Curiously the very next guests left this review;
Our stay was comfortable and enjoyable and Mike’s place is very obviously a loved family holiday home. We enjoyed the fact that Mike’s place embodied the spirit of old school Airbnb - you are a guest at someone’s home - rather than some of the more ‘corporatised’ stays that are now more prevalent. It is an older style beach house, but comfy, clean, well equipped and just as described by Mike.
Honestly, ~95% of our reviews are appreciative and supportive.
Next time you book a holiday rental please research it more carefully.
Mike
Very pleased you enjoyed your stay Leah and we hope your baby slept well in the porta-cot. You had great weather so you would have enjoyed a walk along one of the many beaches and maybe even Wineglass Bay. Please consider another stay in the future.
Regards,
Mike and Liz
