The White Room Fitzroy has been styled and designed by Lynda Gardener
(The White House Daylesford and The Estate Trentham and The Apartment St Kilda)

The White Room has been Featured in Vogue Living and Luxe Guide to Melbourne as well as many international magazines and coffee table books around the world.

The room features beautiful french pure linen, bespoke pieces of furniture including a leather club chair, industrial cabinets, paintings sourced from flea markets around the world, original art work and one off finds.

The White Room is a studio size space with a small bathroom/shower..... a kitchenette with a microwave and small bar fridge, perfect for all your essentials.
In your room we provide some delicious Muesli, yogurt, fresh juice, milk, T2 teas, coffee for your first night/morning.
there is also a small private courtyard with french doors, with afternoon sun.

The White Room is very private and was originally part of an old mattress factory.
Access to your private room is by a old bluestone cobbled lane way.

The City tram line is literally out the front door, which is only a few stops from the centre of the walking into the centre of the city is only 20mins!
Brunswick Street, Gertrude and Smith streets are you local places to visit and you are in the centre of coolest area for bars, cafe's and restaurants.

Walking distance to Rathdowne Street and Lygon Street and the wonderful
Edinburgh Gardens for a walk or picnic!

We woke up and thought, ‘we could be anywhere’. The white room is so quiet and so stunning with the dappled light through the French doors overlooking the ivy covered courtyard. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a stylish getaway.

Very serene and pleasant stay. The studio was very well presented and the quality of everything was exceptional. We spent 2 days and could have stayed longer. Its location just north of the CBD on a tram line would never have been known it was so quiet andpeaceful.

Beautiful Studio in Perfect Location

Lynda's studio was perfect for my 5-day stay in January. The location is excellent and Lynda provides a list of her favourite spots nearby which is a nice touch. The decor is so beautiful and welcoming- you can see why the space was featured in Vogue Living! I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again when I'm next in Melbourne. Thank you Lynda!

Cosy cottage art in north Fitzroy

Great location, very cosy, taps were a bit leaky, and wifi didn’t work. But everything you need for a stay in Melbourne when you are planning on spending most of your time out and about.

Gorgeous space

What a lovely place to spend a weekend and explore the Fitzroy side of the city. We parked the car for the weekend and walked and caught the tram. Such a quiet position, away from all the noise. The room itself is just gorgeous, very homely, most comfortable bed, everything was just beautiful. Lynda your recommendations on restaurants were fantastic, we just loved everything about the white room, we want to try your other places now. Thank you

Such a refreshingly unique place to stay! Great location in our favourite part of Melbourne, yet so quiet & private. The aesthetics are a highlight, with gorgeous natural light, a rambling vine & eclectic interior. Also loved the floor heating, comfy bed, lovely linen and yummy breakfast supplies. Like a mini trip to the back streets of Paris!

I had the most beautiful stay in Lynda's White Room!! It was the perfect place for a staycation!! The room was beautiful! Breakfast essentials included and a short walk to restaurants and cafes - or as I did picked up some goodies for a cheese board!

Why they chose this property

this property is truly unique, its part of an old Mattress factory I renovated many years ago! loads of character and in the best location (I believe) in Melbourne.

What makes this property unique

I love that its located down a laneway (very Fitzroy) and so close to the best cafes, bars and restaurants in the neighbourhood. I have lived here in the area for 30 years and would not want to live anywhere else! I know you will love it too!
