Esperance History: Esperance still enjoys the laid back quality of life. In the 1970's when part of the Space Program of the United States of America landed in the region the town became world history. The unique pieces are housed in the Esperance Museum along with old farming machinery and implements from the 1950's.
In 1792, D Entrecasteaux used Esperance Bay for shelter during a massive storm, naming the town after his vessel. The first settlers drove stock overland from Northam, northeast of Perth in 1863. The town grew with the development of the Overland Telegraph in 1876 and boomed as a gateway town for provisions for miners in Coolgardie and Kalgoorlie in the 1890's gold rush. The town really began to progress in the 1950's when the Esperance Downs Research Station was built. Today Esperance survives on Wheat, sheep and cattle farming plus tourism, commercial fishing and forestry.

Rustic Retreat is in a good location. It is easy to access the town and national parks. Esperance is a beautiful spot but very windy! The pool was lots of fun.

Place was very well setup with ammenities, and was in close vicinity to areas of interest for sight seeing as well as close to shops and restaurants.
Warm, inviting, retro vibes, great location to base excursions from and close to the pub. Spacious for a family or group stay. A lovely helpful host. Would love a little more firewood as ours was a winter stay. Easy to check in and out from.

Thank you, we are happy you enjoyed Rustic Retreat Esperance. There is extra firewood in the wood shed, key is on keys.
This holiday house is very well located, beautifully presented and spotlessly clean which made our stay in Esperance a dream.
Kimdelia, thanks for the opportunity to stay at your property !!!
The Rustic Retreat was the perfect accommodation for a large family! It allowed us to stay in one house with our three children plus my parents. Room for everyone without stepping on each others toes! It was so well stocked with everything you need and the communication was perfect.
We cannot wait to rebook for longer!

The overall impression was great.
The toilet needs some repair.
No-one was game to sleep on the top bunk - suggest some rails.
Location was very convenient

It is a nice, quirky property with a fireplace, great little pool table, plenty of beds and space inside and out. A short walk to the beach which is also great. Beds were comfortable. Unfortunately, the dryer didn't work so we were forced to dry clothes by the fire which was a hassle (the dryer wasn't fixed during our four-day stay). The new BBQ didn't work initially, but fortunately was fixed and was great after that. There were a number of smaller functional issues (lights, squeaky doors, wobbly tables, difficult/fiddly knobs on the gas cook top, some dirty utensils, wet crockery and floors post-cleaning after the previous user) that detracted from our stay. These have since been raised with the manager and hopefully will be addressed for future users for a better experience. But all these things added up and didn't make the stay as good as it could have been.
Rustic Retreat Esperence is fantastic. Spacious house with heaps of room for everyone, has everything we needed. Very clean and well thought out.Nice and close to the beaches, shops, and eating out. Host was great to deal with.10/10. Thanks for a great trip

We are happy you enjoyed Rustic Retreat Esperance. I look forward to seeing you again in the future 😊
This property was spacious for our family, in a perfect location. Everything was extremely clean, and every room felt welcoming.
The neighbourhood was quiet, and gave us the right amount of privacy.
Would definitely stay again.
