About this property

Create@Warburton - a place for friends, families and interest groups to be together and do what they love. Ideal for crafters, walkers, meditators, women's weekends, cyclists, or those who just want to recharge. Create at Warburton is the perfect space to create, relax, reflect, getaway and be inspired.
This property enjoys lovely northern views of the mountains from the decking and most rooms. The retreat is located opposite the entrance to LaLa Falls, whilst still only being a short walk or drive from the shops and cafes in Warburton. The Yarra River runs through town and there are lovely walks along its banks. Several operators offer tours floating down the river. You can also abseil, cave and bike ride in the area.
Don't miss sampling the wonderful fare from The Flying Apron Patisserie, Yarra Valley Artisan Baker, Silva coffee and Fromagerie, The Mill House.
One of the many great features of Create@Warburton is the large, sun filled, open plan ground floor kitchen/living/dining area that opens out to the decking. With an added luxury of split system heating/cooling as well as a wood fire you are sure to be comfortable all year round. There are 2 bedrooms on the ground floor; the 1st has 2 single beds, sleeping 2 in total. The 2nd bedroom has a double bed and a single bed, sleeping 3 in total. Both of these bedrooms adjoin a comfortable second living area with couch and bean bags. There is also a separate toilet and bathroom with bath, shower and vanity on the ground floor.
On the second floor there is a bathroom with shower over bath, toilet and vanity. There are 3 sleeping areas on the second floor; the 3rd bedroom has 2 bunk beds and a single bed, sleeping 5 in total. The 4th bedroom has a queen bed, sleeping 2 in total. The study area contains a single bed.
Create@Warburton can accommodate from the smallest, to the largest of groups by sleeping up to 13 guests comfortably. Everyone who stays can relax, cook, eat, drink, sit and sleep in comfort. Individual bookings secure the whole house.
Relax, admire the artworks on display, catch up on reading, get creative with crafts, and then watch the sun go down from your private deck. You can make use of the fully equipped kitchen and cook up a storm, or visit Warburton Township for a meal at one of the restaurants.
Craft enthusiasts are especially well catered for with the following facilities:
- Huge craft table with inbuilt power points (4.3m x 2.2 m)
- Lightbox
- Design board
- Cutting table
- Ironing facility
There are also numerous cycling opportunities in the area ranging from the gentle Warburton trail to the much more challenging Mt Donna Buang, the Acheron Way and Lake Mountain. Create@Warburton is a great base camp for riders training for the 3 Peaks Challenge, the Alpine Classic, the Great Ocean and Otway Classic.
There is a plethora of mountain biking trails in the immediate area.

Welcome to Warburton....
In our opinion the urban sprawl of Melbourne ends well before you reach Warburton, but is only just over an hour’s drive from its centre. It can also be reached by train to Lilydale linking a frequent and regular bus service to Warburton.
Warburton sits astride the Yarra River approximately 20 kms from the Upper Yarra Dam (well worth a visit). Walks criss-cross the river or why not take a dip? For other walks the choice is endless ranging from a 15 minute stroll to an all day hike. The Warburton Bicycle Trail “Warby Trail” from Lillydale to Warburton was the old railway line and is now well used by both cyclists and walkers.
Try the inexpensive and superb local golf course (club and cart hire available). There are also tennis courts, a bowling green and a sports arena. For those who prefer a swimming pool rather than the Yarra, a ten minute drive to Yarra Junction will answer this need.
There are numerous cafes/restaurants and shops and the township is well served with excellent produce from the bakery, butcher and IGA store.
Within half an hour’s drive you can reach the summit of Donna Buang, visit the cellar doors of several excellent wineries and restaurants, take a trip on Puffing Billy, go to the Races at Healesville, the Market at Yarra Glen, take a picnic to the Lotus Gardens in Yarra Junction and or merely enjoy a scenic drive through the wooded hills and rolling countryside.

About the host
Hosted by Kerrie Lay

The house has been set up as a craft retreat because I believe in the amazing power of people coming together to create. My husband and I renovated this property ourselves in our own quirky, crafty style. Mainly we have crafting groups stay but this house is all about connection so it's great for families and friendship groups as well. Come and feel the magic.
Why they chose this property
We chose Warburton because it ticks all our boxes. Close to Melbourne but a fabulous respite in nature with the wonders of the Yarra Valley at your doorstep.
What makes this property unique
We love our retreat because it is peaceful, homely and restful. The house is nestled into the hill with beautiful views across the valley. Relaxing and replenishing if you want to stay in and plenty to do in the valley if you want to venture out. It's a great place to relax, create and connect with yourself and others. The trail head to Lala falls is only 100m for the house. This is a fabulous walk through nature with towering Mountain ash, fern forests and bird song. Lyrebirds are commonly heard and sometimes seen on this track.
The view of Mt Victoria that can be seen from most rooms is simply stunning. We have many parrots and other birds come to the back deck. They are stunning to observe and their antics highly amusing.
