Authentic log cabin in the woods down a private gravel road nestled beside a babbling brook. The cabin is located on 3+ acres of natural woods and landscaped gardens. A large fire pit outside surrounded by Adirondack chairs plus a large wood burning fireplace inside. Wood is provided! The home consists of 4 bedrooms, 2 upstairs and 2 down, one with en suite bathroom plus 2 more full baths, 1 newly renovated. A great room with a vaulted ceiling and cozy seating in front of the fireplace which joins the dining room with seating for 8. A full kitchen with all the cooking supplies needed looks onto the back deck that sits out over the creek and beautiful garden. A Blackstone gas grill and green egg located on the front deck along with comfortable cushioned seating. Great hiking in the area (maps provided) including a wonderful local waterfall and swimming hole (Pinky Falls) within walking distance from the cabin. The town of Highlands with wonderful restaurants, great shopping and grocery stores is a 10 min. drive from the house.

Lovely 4th of July in the Highlands

Great Getaway

Four generations of our family enjoyed this lovely property for the 4th. My 4 year old grandson was in Heaven. We all enjoyed the outdoor space. It was convenient to town but tucked away and private. The kitchen was perfect to prepare family meals and plenty of seating. We enjoyed feeding the birds while having our coffee every morning. Definitely one of our favorite properties.

Awesome stay!

The property was wonderful! We really enjoyed our stay. It was a very peaceful stay.... just why you come to the mountains! The property owner was very helpful and quick to respond to any questions we had. We were in town for a wedding at Flat Mountain Farms. From the house, we could actually walk to the venue! It is a short distance (less than 10 minutes) to the downtown part of Highlands also. The location was both peaceful and convenient! Wish we could have stayed longer!

Cozy cottage in the woods

Wonderful and cozy home tucked away in the woods within 5 minutes drive of Highlands. It was outfitted with every possible convenience including a well appointed kitchen, and a living room fireplace with lots of firewood. The host was immediatey responsive by email and text after the passage of a major storm. She was able to quicky send someone to clear the driveway of fallen debris. This is perfect for a family or group of friends visiting Highlands!

Peaceful Home, Tastefully done

This is a wonderful home. Close to Highlands center but just far away enough to feel remote. Big lot on a small quiet road with only 4 or so houses on the road. I've owned a home in Highlands in the past and I felt right at home in this comfortable and well decorated space. Nice outdoor living spaces, front porch and back deck. There were 4 of us, so the the 3 full baths really made a difference. The owner was very friendly and responded to our questions immediately. Will definitely book this one again!!!!

Lovely cabin

This cabin is lovely! If you’re looking for a getaway in the Highlands that’s convenient to town but feels like home, this is for you! The cabin is very cute - well decorated, lovely setting near a creek surrounded by beautiful plants, good amount of space and comfortable beds with nice bedding. The host was very responsive and easy to communicate with. There are plenty of fans and you can open windows so no air conditioning is not an issue. The house is not in town but a quick drive. There’s ample parking. We greatly enjoyed feeding the birds, playing board games and sitting out on the deck to enjoy the sounds of nearby creek. We attended a wedding at Flat Mountain Farm and this cabin could not have been more convenient!

Hidden Mountain Gem

Splendid location! Exquisitely decorated in classy but comfortable cabin decor. My wife and I with our 4 children ages 11-18 headed to the mountains after Christmas 2019. We enjoyed everything from ample seating in the family room, to a well stocked kitchen and beautifully landscaped yard, this property has it all! Our family of 6 enjoyed the open floor plan as it allowed us the space to eat a leisurely breakfast, play games or sit by the amazing fireplace! My youngest daughter and son especially enjoyed exploring the property with its many trails that interconnected. As much as this property is conducive for family time and gathering together it has enough space for when you need some alone time. The oversized outdoor firepit was a huge hit for s’more making and story telling! An added bonus was the plentiful firewood provided by the owners, we never ran out! The drive was 10 minutes to downtown Highlands and close to hiking and waterfalls. Highlands was a very charming and beautiful small town with a city center and a Main Street with all shops within walking distance with a very good selection of restraunts. The linens were plush and beds extremely comfortable. Towels were thick and soft and plenty stocked in every bathroom. Communication with the owner was very easy and she was helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the area and what to do. I highly recommend this property, it overdelivered our expectations!

I contemplated becoming a squatter

From the moment you walk in you feel right at home. An amazing location, easy to get to both Highlands and Cashier in a short drive. The property itself looks like it’s straight out of a fairy tale with beautiful lush gardens and streams. Complete privacy, not a neighbor was seen. The house itself is the perfect cozy cabin. Rain on the tin roof and cool mountain air will guarantee you return home refreshed. Blankets, board games, books. These hosts have thought of it all. My kids are 8 and 10 and I felt perfectly safe with them on the loft area. Younger kids might need more supervising, if you are into that kind of thing on vacay.

Cozy cabin in the woods

This was our first trip to Highlands which was absolutely beautiful. The cabin was in a pretty, secluded setting. It was tastefully decorated offering a warm, cozy feel. We loved all the interesting art and pottery on display. We cooked a lot and appreciated how well equipped and stocked the kitchen was. We would love to return to this beautiful cabin and would highly recommend it. You will not be disappointed.

Relaxing and Remote Family Vacation

This house is a gem! The property is magical and our boys (2.5 and 5.5) had a blast. The creek and flat yard area were perfect for playing and exploring. We roasted marshmallows at night and enjoyed watching the birds on the back deck at dinner. We also enjoyed playing in Big Creek right down the road and going to town (just a short 8 min drive away). We can’t wait to come back!

A Christmas Family getaway in Highlands
