The Clyde River Retreat is surrounded on all sides by State Forest and National Park, kilometres from the nearest neighbours (other than the native wildlife) it is a perfect place to get away from it all.
With over half a kilometre of river frontage, the retreat is perfect for fishing or swimming in the Clyde river, bush-walking in the local forests, or for use as a launching point for exploring the surrounding national parks.
For artists, writers and musicians, the retreat offers something unique – an unspoilt environment and a simple lifestyle that will recharge your creative energies and enrich your artistic endeavors.
The retreat has three separate cabins that can accommodate up to fifteen people – perfect for special-interest groups who need a place free from all distractions from the outside world.

Nice cosy cabin in a very quiet and peaceful location. The 14km of unsealed road was no problem for our small 2WD. And it was not too far from the start of Pigeon House Mountain track which we wanted to do.
Peaceful and away from the hustle & bustle of the school holidays.
Beautiful place to relax and swim in the fresh water River that is crystal clear and Bass to fish for.
Ross & Joanne were so helpful with letting us know the sites to see in the area and if you have any queries they are more than happy to assist.
If you are looking to party this is not the place for you.
It is so peaceful and great wildlife and 4x4 tracks.
My partner and I had the most relaxing time staying at Clyde River Retreat. We drove up in unseasonably torrential rain and Ross was so incredibly helpful in insuring we arrived safely and had everything we needed. The place was so clean and cosy, with a well equipped kitchen and bathroom.
Looking forward to staying again!
What a magnificent location. We loved the flora and fauna with the bird life a standout. The climb up Pigeon House Mountain was a particular highlight and I will be returning there.
The Clyde river is pristine and worth visiting alone.
Out hosts were polite, knowledgeable and genuinely dedicated to ensuring that we enjoyed our stay.
This is a "get away from it all" location that I will be visiting again. Thank you for a memorable holiday.

Antechinus poo everywhere :(
I appreciate that the houses are located in the bush, and Antechinus live in the area and it is near impossible to keep them out, but there was Antechinus poo everywhere! The place looked clean at a cursory glance, but it really wasn’t. I was pretty unhappy about this.

Seriously, Duanne? When you complained about Antechinus droppings on your bed linen on arrival we changed all the linen immediately and without question, because we know they can indeed get into the cabins, even though we did not see any evidence ourselves, then or later when we washed it all. There was certainly not "Antechinus poo everywhere". You did not make any such complaint during the rest of your two night stay here, and you also declined our offer to move to another cabin if you felt so inclined. I can understand you were a bit miffed when we had to ask you to leave, but that was because you had already overstayed beyond check-out time, and since we had arranged to go out ourselves later that day we could not wait any longer for you to complete your kayaking adventures on the river, which you obviously enjoyed so much.
Thank you Ross & Joanne for our getaway.
For all those who want to just getaway from hustle & bustle & disconnect “Clyde River Retreat is perfect.
Beautiful part of the world.Absolute peace & tranquility.
Would highly recommend to all nature lovers. My partner and I had a wonderfully relaxing time, enjoying the tranquility and beauty of the forest. The cottage was simple, clean and cosy. Check-in and communication with Ross was easy.

Totally secluded. Comfortable. Peaceful. Be prepared for 15km of dirt road to get there
