Things to do
Lake Tabourie has clear water and conditions range from calm and peaceful through to high surf. Crampton Island sits just off the coast and is accessible at low tide via a sand spit. Near the island the sea is generally calm and ideal for young children and snorkeling. North along Wairo beach and south from Tabourie to Meroo beaches the surf gradually builds offering consistent and well known surf beach and reef breaks. The entire foreshore is part of the Meroo national park, with no beach development offering spectacular views of unspoilt coastline and access to native flora and fauna.
The Tabourie museum on the highway is also an interesting visit.
The local shop (Tabourie Tucker box) offers essential groceries items, bait fuel, a takeaway and a bottle shop. An excellent roadside fruit stall operated on weekends.
Canoes can be hired from Tabourie Caravan Park.
Burrill Lake 5 minutes north of Lake Tabourie has tennis court available for hire, mini golf as well as good eating at Cafe Brill. It also offers some of the best fish and chips from the Burril Fish shop located on the Highway.
Ulladulla is only 10 minutes north and offers conveniences such as a cinema, Coles (open until midnight), Aldi, Funland (a good idea for a rainy day) and local restaurants. Just 5 minutes further on is the historic township of Milton with antique and specialty shops and great cafes.
Location
Lake Tabourie is located 3 hours from Sydney and Canberra and 10 minutes form Mollymook and Ulladulla.
From Sydney, head south and pass through Nowra, Ulladulla and Lake Burrill and continue a further 5 minutes on to Lake Tabourie.
