This two bedroom cottage at Carlton Beach has been renovated to provide a comfortable getaway; ideal for relaxing by the beach. Lovely views to Carlton River mouth and the water of Frederick Henry Bay. Situated at the end of a cul-de-sac and backing onto bush, it is private, quite, sheltered and sunny. There are a variety of bird species who will sing you their songs, a resident bluetongue lizard, bandicoots and wallaby’s.

A great place to day trip and explore Hobart, Richmond, Tasman Peninsula, and the East Coast.

The cottage offers 2 bedrooms, full kitchen, dishwasher, shower room, bathroom/laundry, lounge (with two double futons)/dining and outdoor living. We supply all linen, heat pump and wood/wood fire TV, DVD, BBQ facilities and outdoor setting with umbrella. A pantry stocked with basics and essentials (more info on request). The adjoining Dodges Ferry (5minutes drive) provides excellent grocery, butcher, and bottle shop provisions, has a post office, newsagent, pharmacy, doctor and hairdresser. If you're feeling energetic Healthy Horizons Fitness Centre is a 5-minute drive away.

Dodges Ferry is in the southern beaches area and there are plenty of local beaches, surf, sheltered bays and easy coastal walks. You can walk to Carlton Beach in 10 minutes and the river mouth in 15min, abundance of water birds. Carlton Park Surf Life Saving Club patrols the beach each weekend and public holiday from December to March. Carlton Beach is considered one of Tasmania’s best and safest surf beach’s particularly for learners and children and the river mouth is great for fishing from the shore. Or enjoy Park, Red Ochre and Blue Lagoon Beaches, all within a five to ten minute drive.

There is a boat ramp adjacent to the 'Boat Park' children's playground, so bring a tinny and throw a line in – lots of flat head in Frederick Henry bay.
