It is a new clean place and we mostly enjoy our stay. We happened to encounter a 37 degree day so the one split system in the living room did help but not quite cool the bedrooms. That's the only down side.
Nice house in quiet street. A bit of a hike to the beach and a drive to the shop. I think it would be good with older kids (our eldest was 4) Would recommend taking your own pillows and, if you are going to do much cooking, some sharp knives. We followed the instructions regarding use of the washing machine and still ended up with water all over the floor. It's either not plumbed in correctly or faulty.

Nice house, basic inclusions
The house is well built, nice and roomy, and a lovely balcony with bbq and outdoor lounge and seating. Good location close to Beach. The furnishings inside are comfortable and well maintained.
We totally missed that there wasn’t wifi in the home. The Telstra and Optus reception is pretty poor, flipping between 1 bar of 4g and 2 or 3 bars of 3G. Fair enough if you want a low tech getaway, but I needed to also be online for work so and even making a phone call from outside kept dropping out. I ended up driving to Wonthaggi to buy a cellular modem to try and get by, which wasn’t much better. Just beware to take your own internet somehow and accept that you won’t be able to stream anything.
The drawbacks were in the lack of detail. While having to bring linen and towels, you also need to byo tea towels, oven mitts and anything else more than salt and pepper. The olive oil in the pantry expired two years ago, the whisk in the utensil drawer had too much rust to be safe. No other pantry staples like vinegar or flour or sauce that you often find in other rentals on this range. For $100 at Kmart and Aldi the kitchen would be well served with some more utensils, pantry staples and some additional glasses, bath mats and tea towels.
The cleanliness wasn’t great, with dusty footprints inside on the floor and little fingerprints on the glass doors, and we had to clean off the dust mud on the outdoor furniture and deck.
Despite those grumbles we actually had a good stay :)
The house was new and was as listed according to website.
Perfect location for us, close to third surf beach and Andersons Inlet which enabled us to do what we came back to Venus Bay for.
We enjoyed our week at Beach Haven. The house was well designed for two family groups with separate “wings” containing bedrooms and bathrooms.
It was clean, spacious, comfortable and generally well equiped.
However, our teenage granddaughters felt that the location was a little remote.
It was a perfect house for our family. We had our parents and two teenage kids with us. The beds were very comfortable. Family Games provided saved us with entertainment option while it was rainy outside. Kids enjoyed the DVDs provided. All in all excellent house! Highly recommend.
Everything was fine and we had a lovely holiday. We thought the house was good value.
A great venue for a relaxing holiday.
Many thanks to Ilona.

Fabulous location and home!
We loved our time at Beach Haven - this is our second holiday in this property. The home is well appointed for a comfortable stay and the balcony is perfect for drinks and dinner in the summer sun. Such a great location with a very green outlook with only the sounds of the sea and birds to hear - no cars and traffic!!

Awesome Place
I stayed here with my adult family and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was comfortable and clean and extremely spacious, and although there were eight of us sharing one house, we never felt cramped or on top of each other. Wifi was the only thing that would have made the house better (reception in the area is atrocious) but there were ample games, dvds, etc. provided to stave off any potential boredom.
Our only issue was that the bunk beds were very tiny, not the sturdiest and slightly uncomfortable. Not to the extent that it would stop us renting this place again but they are much better suited to children and any adults should dibbs the queen beds as soon as you can.
Overall though we were very happy. Thank-you Ilona for the great time!!
