The house was perfectly located within walking distance to the pool and tennis court. Great homely feeling from the moment you walk in the door. We had most meals on the spacious deck watching the kangaroos and birds. The hosts were wonderful ensuring we had all the creature comforts of home. Will definitely return for another family weekend.
A big country house with all the comforts and facilities. We were a group of 3 couples who wanted a base to explore Dungog and the Barrington Tops from. Well equipped, warm in winter, cleaners did a great job in presenting the house. Quiet and peaceful.

Christmas at Bandon Grove
Our family came together from various parts of QLD and NSW for four days over Christmas. Bandon Grove provided all that we needed for preparing a celebratory feast with kitchen utensils, baking and serving dishes, wine glasses and plenty of room around the table in air-conditioned comfort. The oven lived up to expectations, cooking a magnificent pavlova as well as a delicious pork roast with crackling. The three bedrooms were spacious with comfortable beds and the huge bathroom provided a relaxing spa. Hikes and swimming in the nearby pool were enjoyable activities easily accessed. We had a wonderful time and hope to return at another time.

About the host
Hosted by Gary Wells
Hi welcome to Blackwattle our home in the country, we are Cheryl and Gary and Blackwattle was our dream home come to life. With a back ground in construction and design we felt that the location of house was perfect to take advantage of the view and proximity to the pool and tennis court. The tranquil locality high in the valley has allowed us to achieve a perfect place relax and unwind with most of the creature comforts of home.
Why they chose this property
The design of the house takes in the view down the picturesque valley an features a large balcony to encourage people to enjoy the country air with a great outdoor living area.
The Western red cedar timber used extensively through out was specially imported from Canada to give a finish that is knot free and flawless, the timber floor was cut from local blue gum hard wood which has proven durable but has a very rich colour and feel.
Take a detailed look at the dinning table as this was created by a local craftsman from Huon Pine timber cut in 1880 for floor boards in a house in Annandale that was saved in the 1990's when redevelopment occured.
The cathedral ceilings give the house a large airy feel with the dormer window providing indirect light, the craftmanship of the fine line joints is a celebration of the skills of local Dungog tradesmen.
This house was purpose built to fit the terrain with a single purpose to deliver a special experience to the people that inhabit it, we hope enjoy it as much as we do Cheryl and Gary
What makes this property unique
The features of Blackwattle include, the ambiance of the location, large living areas both inside and out, full kitchen, pool table, spa facility, sat TV, air conditioning, under cover parking, tennis court, swimming pool, fire place and close proximity to national park and Chichester Dam.
